Im not sure where they will send you, but i went to Green Bay for oreintation for bulk (tanker) but what the drivers who were van said 1week in GB then down to Gary Indiana out with your TE for about a week tgen back to Gary to test out and if all goes good then you get assinged to a tractor and on ur way.

 

Idk if west Memphis has a training facility if not you would come to Indy do a week class room and driving then go out with a te for a week then come back to Indy do your skill qualification and get a truck assignment. I just finished all that up and am heading to MN to get my truck tomorrow.. all straight forward and easy if you have your skills together.

 

Don't sweat it.. its pretty easy and they walk you through it and any test is open book. Mostly trip planning and some pro treads work.. classroom isn't very long at all...

 

Pay depends on what you run.. I made a little less than 500 a week for training..and will make around 700 while driving.

 

Pay in trucking varies greatly if you have endorsements to not be limited to general freight. Experience and if you get lucky to get assigned a reliable truck. My truck has broken down four times since I started. Word of advice. Save your money when the times are going right. They will starve you with $65 a day with breakdown pay. If you accept a loaner, I've heard stories of people having to hunt down their belongings after their truck was given to someone else.
