I noticed their logo on a truck pulling out of Fernely NV yesterday pulling a belly-dump train...but haven't seen any trucks elsewhere. Wonder who they bought out??

I have had four inspections this year with no log violations. Kinda mad though I got an inspection about two weeks ago the inspector I think he suspected my logs were fudged but they were "correct". The guy spends 2 hours on my truck and trailer and wrote me for a hole in deck of my trailer, a cracked weld on a trailer crossmember, and chaffing brake lines on both trailer axles. BS I say!

Who hasn't been subjected to this! The "I'm going to find something" DOT guy or gal just sucks. I had a gal at Banning, CA seem angry at me for not finding anything on my log so took a few hours and the only thing she could find was a cracked stake pocket on the EMPTY flatbed I was pulling.

My dad worked for Link on the Southwest Regional Fleet (pulling the 57ft trailers) for about 10 months. The home-time was really good for him but, he only lived an hour from the Houston yard. He also tells me the checks were always on-time, although they started him at a lower CPM rate than the recruiter had promised. A few phone calls and it was cleared up. He goes on to tell me equipment was a constant source of headaches though. He says all of the 57fters at that time were very dilapidated and sometimes down right scary to pull. He mentions multiple incidents of forklifts actually breaking through the trailer floor. He goes on to tell me there was a huge problem with other drivers leaving stuff to be fixed for the next unfortunate guy to pull that trailer. He also tells me the shop's preferred practice seemed to be the old "baling wire and duct tape method", for example burnt out lights deemed "unnecessary" were simply removed instead of being replaced leaving open holes in the trailer walls. Their 82% Safe-Stat Vehicle Maintenance rating speaks for itself clearly.

Guys, look a their head team. Top management comes from Greatwide, CRST, US Xpress, did I mention CRST and Greatwide? Every one of them are some ex head honcho from Greatwide except 2. Maintenance who is from CRST as director if maintenance and the VP of truckload who was a dispatcher for US Xpress. He went to Link and kissed major behinds to get his promotion. Lots of stories on hos back stabbing and he is a top back stabber, too.

Can you expect much more when these are the same wads that came from these notable companies and now they are running Link into the ground as well? You can't expect too much with a resume like Link has.

To that super trucker that posted on here about doing 67 mph and never getting tickets, making big dollars, blah blah blah... Try blowing that smoke up somone elses behind for it isn't working here. Do you really believe the lies you spread? I mean really? There are thousands of drivers that will all call you out. Until I see some proof on black and white and not some made up word document, I will never believe you. Sorry, I just won't. I know how it really is out there and what you are giving is junk information... Plus you admitted to running illegal as well. I hope you get caught for it.

Sounds like your upset for some reason not sure why? I never said u had to believe me although if you work for a good company that will run you 7 out of 7 days with either good paying freight( percentage pay) or max you on miles for the week and pay a professional wage on mileage pay. An experienced driver on mileage getting paid less than .40 cpm is a joke! Any driver with experience should easily be able to gross 80k per year and up with experience and no wrecks or tickets. Main problem is with the big companies are to many hands in the cookie jar...pay the driver a menial wage let him do the hard work while admin. execs and dispatch reap the rewards. I don't recall ever saying I run illegal...I wii say this I use every minute of every hour on my 11 and 14.

Their numbers are still not improving, are they...

The "investment firm" that bought LinkAmerica (yep, similar to Bain Capital) took over the company my wife was doing some work for (medical Solutions). She just resigned last week. She said it is being run into the ground and all kinds of changes in the insurance that is worse than what it was. Wages being dropped, benefits dropped, and all these promises of improvements. She told me some things that sound like the same exact verbiage in several letters I receieved from Link. What is with all these companies getting purchased up by investment firms now? I didn't pay too much to them until I read the stories about Bain Capital. Now the international company I work for is in the news for they are being purchased by an investment firm as well. Thank goodness it isn't Tenex for the firm buying us, is way better and is in the national news all the time. I'm sure if you use natural gas you bought from the firm that is buying us since they control all of it.

Oh, I am told I will be getting a $4/hr raise out of the deal as well. ot bad for me! I guess I can say thank you Linkamerica for showing me what the bottom of a barrell looks like for me to strive even harder to never work for a trucking company clown like that again.
