Yeah, talking about trolls, eh?
I can live with it, seeing as how I don't have much choice.
Tolerate it: Grudgingly, and with ill-grace, same reason.
Accept it, especially given the real reasons for its existence?
Never.
This is just one more brick in the road to USA-style mega-carrier factory farms for "drivers." How soon until we see the Canadian equivalent of DAC, and these crawling filth being allowed to get away with the same things here that they do there, you think? You know they want it, we all do, and no pathetic little cult-of-positivity platitudes are going to change that.
I give it 5-7 years, maximum.

I cant wait for DAC to show up here. Whats wrong with an employer having a lil leverage on seeing what a prospective new hire is like? Got something to hide??
Why is it you go off the deep end when someone mentions something about your attitude? That speaks volumes haha. If you seriously cannot handle a goverened truck then go get yer own and drive 100 MPH all day long...then you can come back here and whine some more about how you are burning more then 50% of your pay in fuel... -
What was the point of encouraging discussion if you became combative of others who disagree with you?
Where I come from we call that ignorance. Online is called a Troll.CbarM Thanks this. -
Theres one daycab we use for the highway that goes 115 lol. They forgot to turn it down.

Even though midianlord is very vocal about his opinions I actually agree with most of his points concerning driving in Canada, particularly Alberta. I drive weekly from Winnipeg out to Regina then down through Coutts /Sweetgrass to Los Angeles then back to Winnipeg/Calgary the same way. Occasionally I will go out through crowsnest pass into BC then down through Idaho and over to Oregon . I have recently had the pleasure of going into Toronto and Montreal a few times the last couple of months. My truck, as is any that go to eastern Canada, is governed by law to 105km per hour. I can't get around that and really have no need to anyway. I do however find that the lack of regard shown for trucks by the MAJORITY of 4 wheelers in ALL of Canada is the worst in Alberta. Yes the speed limit is 110 but how many 4 wheelers do it ? NONE! How many exceed it ? MOST. How many times have I been flipped off by them for going less than 110 ? Plenty! Albertans have the least trafficked roads in Canada yet are the most impatient , aggressive , unsafe drivers of them all. Answer this for me , Why can I drive all day in Los Angeles traffic and have no close calls or near misses yet when in Canada on a quiet two lane highway I have more reasons to worry about wat the idiot in their jacked up I have a small wiener pick up with the extra wide mirrors hanging out for no reason tool will do ? And it's not too do with the speed differential either. I can guarantee if my truck could go 110 then they would be doing 120 km per hour. Canadian prairie drivers suck! Toronto and Montreal are just plain nightmares but the prairies are more prone to fatalities than either of those cities. Midianlord you have a very good and true point to make. Maybe ease up on the argumentative side of it but I for one know exactly what your talking about and the frustration you are describing.

I wish: Diesel was not ULSD
Gasoline was higher octane
Fuel was less than .75 per Litre
Food was cheaper
Beer was $18.00 for a 24
I had the energy I had when I was 25
But the reality is none of the above is going to happen nor are speed limiters going away. I bet in a few years the Ontario law will be nationwide. Nothing to do with safety but everything to do with fuel economy. It's not my fuel but I can sure understand why carriers do limit speed.

I have no problems with governed trucks. I don't see it as the sole savior of fuel economy though. I can just as easily get 4 mpg as I can get 6 mpg with my truck and it's governed. Its not all just in the top speed. There are more factors to fuel economy than speed limiting the truck. I know a guy getting 7 to 8 mpg with his truck running at the speed limits In canada. It's spec'd right and he hauls light loads. The main reason for speed limiters is insurance premiums not fuel economy. Governing a trucks top speed doesn't stop a driver from making stop light derby take offs , constantly speeding up and braking hard in traffic or running geared down or hitting the top of the rev range on a grade instead of using the torque of the engine. All these things will kill mpg quicker than limiting the top speed of the truck.

It's all the imports... they can't handle the freedom and wide open spaces.

Yes, some of our rules are different, so you should follow them.

What KW9's rock is trying to tell you is that the only safe place to drive is in Ontario and Quebec.
