I would like to share the scandalous ending of my 6 mo. Exp. With c.r.e,
The school was horrible , abusive foul mouthed trainers in richmond. Bed bug infested hotel rooms with comp coffee that smelled like the filter hadn't been changed for days. After getting my cdl wich I take most of the credit for as you are rushed thru a program with very little learn or practice time , then sent to test with do or die after 3 tries unless ur a favorite you can get more tries. I then waited 10day for phase 1 training these additional 10 days meant no money for my rent. I will spare you the complaint about phase 1 because all in all the man did teach me how to drive a truck. After that back in richmond to upgrade.4 days hotel and school unpaid then 13 days waiting list for phase 2 again no money for rent , resulted in eviction. Phase 2 I actually had a very professional and courteous trainer who also taught me a lot.so now to burns harbor for upgrade the hotel was much better, now being homeless I leased a truck in wich I would live and work .
to make the payments I had to take student drivers with me , the first one spoke very poor english wich was often frustrating.after a few arguments I switched him out for a guy that I woke up to as he was watching netflix , speeding and passing in a curve in the rain, he too got switched out.the next guy is my friend still.
well the end began early september I took wrong turn into a dead end and was forced to uturn the left was so hard that I popped a cab extension(air fin) drivers side resulting in an accident report on myself(This part of the situation is completely my own fault , poor trip planning).as a result I was scheduled for a road test and backin eval with safety I passed the road test and hit 1 cone backing , auto fail 1 retest with a truck that had major regen issues and kept stalling (I was forced to use this truck) . I failed on time only(no cones or crates), at no point was I told that there is a time limit I rememberer him saying use as many pull ups as you need.after me he switched the truck out for the following 3 testees.the 1 before me got to use his own truck , I couldn't as I had no trailer with me. I feel the test was invalid and felt that the switching of the trucks made it even scandalous I was disqualified!(fired).
I also had many bad expieriences with payroll , deducting pallets for an overseen reciept$192, $50 lumper for a drop and hook, $750 maintnence from a differrent truck 2 of wich resulted in negative checks, reimbursement the following week. Even got charged for reefer fuel to the amount of $148 that however was reimbursed with an express code after my complaining. There's more but enuff.

Cutting students loose was probably a bad idea....they say you are running your own business, but if you don't do it exactly they way they want this will happen....

Ok. half that is b.s. I used to be a phase one trainer at cre. those ten days, did you call your tc everyday to have them sign you in? if you did, yiu wouldve gotten paid for thise days. i highly doubt it, because all my students had the same problem, and when asked them that, they said no.
as fas as what he did or did not teach you....hes only required to teach you drive, backing, and some qcom usage. phase two teaches you the rest.
as far as you leasing......if your a fuel nazi, you wouldnt get neg chks. and thise pallets....if you wouldve read the stuff you were given in training, dont take loads with pallet xchnge if your an i.c.
i did both phase one and two training while i was with cre. my smallest chk was 1000. -
well you get $25 a day , I could not pay my bills with that sorry.I didn't complain about my trainers. Negative checks were not my fault , maintnence issues came up like new set of steer tires because my alignment was done improperly, and tho I was training I was constanlty getting solo miles , I sent macros reminding my dm that ishould be team status, he would 10-4 this and send me another 600 mile 2 droo over 2 days load, so. Pkease don't judge me , I'm glad you had a good expierience.

Lol, this is hilarious to me, I am very lucky I learned to drive at swift because at the England school, they told us the phase 1 trainer would teach us to backup, shift, bump docks, use the qc, etc. My phase 1 trainer said that is the phase 2 trainers job, and the phase 2 trainer says it is the phase 1 trainers job. Nice little circles of responsibility there.
The reality is you are in that truck not to train but to provide more miles to an IC that needs you to produce miles to be profitable, there is little that forces anyone to actually train the students. For me trip planning, map reading, maintenance, load securement, etc weren't covered at all by anyone, it I hadn't already learned it at Swift I would have been set up for failure.cyn1123 Thanks this. -
