hey everyone i just started with knight transport on wen to a load up to owosso Michigan then went to royal oaks Michigan to royal oaks waste, just wanted to say hi and introduce my self. i used to work for schneider and got tired of working for only $300 a week and they screwed me over on medical leave, i had to set three weeks before they ever thought of trying to get me back and i thought screw this put my app in with knight and the next week was at orientation so far i like it everyone is very nice in the office and know me by name already, i like the small company feeling when i go to the terminal in Indianapolis the couldn't believe the truck i got when i finished orientation i have a 2011 Volvo with only 103,000 miles on it, and it drives smooth, just wondering how everyone's else experience is going with knight and wonder how long you have been with knight
p.s. if all you have to say about knight is negative don't even bother posting it yes i do understand every company does have its up and downs i just dont want to here it.

Hey good luck out there and be safe...

Been here since late March. So far it's been a great experience. Lots of miles, just too much Northeast for my liking. Working with my DM to get that fixed. Truck.....2009 Pete 387 with 450k. Runs good, looks ok. Was a Squire truck in it's early life.

yea i wanted a pete when i got here but now that i have a 2011 volvo dont think i would want to give it up lol rides smooth better then my last job at schneider i drove a 2007 freightliner that was falling apart and had 900,000 put on it but i still understand you still have to pay your dues
-
I asked for a Prostar right up front. They didn't/don't have any extras at Indy. I was given a choice between a Volvo and my Pete. Lots more room in the Pete for me (75" sleeper in the Pete, 61" in the Volvo). Absolutely HATE Freightliners. The only good one I drove was a Cascadia at my first job. -
i still would like to have a pete but there was a few ppl at indy saying take the volvo or pro star less problems, i believe all trucks have there problems your gonna have to deal with it anyway, but i still would like a pete even tho those drivers said the had been in the shop more with the pete than anything else
-
personal choice but i can tell you in 85,000 miles my volvo has yet to break down, and it way out handles the pete. and no progressive shifting like the pro star.

I was told Knight had automatic transmissions..Is this true?
I dont have anything against either type of transmission but im currently weighing my options as far as work goes and i just wanted some input on what knight could offer -
Everything I've heard of has been a 9 or 10 speed. I have a 9 speed in my Volvo. I haven't heard of anyone with an automatic.

never ran into a knight driver with auto trans maybe the day cabs in certain cities
