OK, a new question from a future company driver:
How much flexibility, if any, do company drivers have on their fuel stops?
A hypothetical situation:
I'm running solo. I have 15 minutes left of legal drive time. It's been a long day, there's a truck stop 2 miles ahead, and I really need a shower before I sleep. Can I get the 50 gallons of fuel needed for a free shower, or will I have to wait until morning to fuel because the truck stop I'm supposed to use is another 50 miles down the road?

Not that much flexibility. They keep company drivers on a short leash when fuels involved. Most days you'll have enough credits to deal with it.

You have to get fuel where the macro 27 tells you too and as a company driver you must follow their routing also
As your comdata card will only work where they tell you to stop -
that isn't true. idk why so many drivers get the notion that company drivers are puppets... its as simple as telling call ur dispatcher and saying, im going to need my card opened up for 50 gals.... simple as that, i have done this many times....

Try that with the night and weekend crew.

I haven't had any problems doing it, but I only do it on a as needed basis. Personally I would have stopped and showered at my last fuel stop when I had fueled. But that said now that I can pickup 175 gals of fuel at a time I only fuel once every 2 days as Prime seems to like to keep me full. But with this load I am running so close to 80K that I can only pick up 80 gals at a time or I will be over wt. Pain in the butt, but I am racking up shower points again. Be safe out there.

This was probably asked before, but do you have to take the hazmat endorsement at Prime?
-
Yes and No. They want u to get it, and u have more loads available to you if u get it

I don't go 200 miles out of my way to save a penny because the company and mac 27 says so. I call the boss or night weenie if late and have them open my card for wherever i am. ALSO, The routing is not mandatory. It is recommended. I use the route, the map and the GPS, then I plan MY route the way I want to go unless the load has a route requirement for tracking and those are rare

The "recommended" verbage in mac 27 instructions is to keep the company out of trouble with lease ops classification with the IRS as independent contractors. Prime can't order our comings and goings. For company employees, that routing is manditory by policy, although your specific FM may not hold you to it. Don't get in an accident off route.
