Lol that one is cute, just till February and I will have a year, I am most amazed that with all the information around people still pick England for leasing.

Absolutely! After all, we are in that state of "TDS" (terminal driver shortage)....

LOL. True. You think with the driver shortage, they'd offer more pay. Guess not.

I will concur with this post. I am currently ending my employment with CRE. I went to their school in August. They don't pay you while you are in their school (which they don't tell a lot of people, some people yes, me no). I concur with everything he said bout Richmond. BTW, doesn't it seem odd that ALL of their instructors in Richmond (at least up till last week) have NEVER driven for England?! Anyway, so I went through the school passed everything flying colors, including road test first try. Then I sat and waited for 2 weeks for a phase one trainer, and yes I checked in everyday with the PC in Richmond, will not leave her name, but I did. After finally getting on the truck, the trainer was nice. And he taught me a lot about everything, HE never once said it wasn't his job to train me on anything. Needless to say for the first 21 days all was gravy. But, then... He got a call something about his wife leaving him for his brother. We were 19 miles northwest of Waco Tx. Luckily his drive shift ended and we pulled into a rest area so that I could take over. We went in used the restrooms came back out and did the required VI. We have to sit and wait a minimum of 15mins (company policy) before driving again for the VI. We get all of that done and we have 4 mins to wait. I text my wife (in the drivers seat not moving still parked) to let her know I would be driving and wouldn't be able to txt. He then looks and me and says "if you don't throw that GD phone out the window and get off of it I will throw you and that GD phone out and run you both over". It caught me totally off guard and I replied with "I was just letting my wife..." and he cuts me off here and says, and I quote: "I don't care, you can take that ####amaime story home and shove it up your dead mother's p***y!! Now get driving." He knew my mother had died when I was 13, and I am a southern boy, so you know how I reacted to this. After a slightly difficultly constrained response to his words, I called TC in Salt lake city and requested a new driver after filling them in to what occurred. They asked if I could wait until we got to Laredo and I said I would do my best. Well at this point he is livid because I have requested a new trainer. He starts in on me with massive verbal assaults and says that "If you further impune my ability to make money I will cut you". The verbal assaults continue and finally I have had enough. I pull the truck over and call TC again and tell them I can't stay on the truck as my life is being threatened. They then tell me to find the next exit with a truck stop and a hotel and they will get another trainer to pick me up the next day. Well, he finally goes back to the sleeper. Then I get to exit 325a and pull off the interstate. The GPS tells me the hotel is right off of the exit and it of course was wrong. I didn't know because this part wasn't covered in our trip planning. So NOW I am driving around the narrow streets of outskirts Waco trying to find this place. He has figured out by this point that I am no longer on the interstate. He then gets up and starts screaming at me about "wasting his fuel" which was stupid as his fuel was paid for by the company, well most of it anyway. I can't find this place the GPS tells me about so I find the first place to pull off of the road which was a momnpops gas station. He is still screaming and cursing at me and telling me I have 30 seconds to get the F*** off of his truck or he was going to whip my bleep all over the parking lot. I get TC on the phone and they are hearing his ranting while I am packing my bags. I get my stuff packed finally and my TC tells me to ask him for a few ComCheqs. He replies with go screw yourself they can mail them to you for all I care get the hell off my truck before I slice you. So I turn and toss my blue duffel bag to the ground and my red medium luggage bag is in the passenger seat. I turn to climb off the truck backwards and he picks up my red bag and throws it in my face. This bag is about 40lbs. If I hadn't have had the grip on the door that I had I would have been seriously injured. The clerk sees this going on and has heard his rants and raves and has called Waco's finest. He then starts driving away ON MY TIME on the electronic logs. Which as far as I know is a DOT federal violation of forging logs. I notify the company about this and after dealing with the police they take me over to the only truck stop there which is a Flying J. I then proceed to get my lodgings set up for the night and then the officer that brought me over there tells me that the trainer was on his way to that truck stop. He shows up and sits in his truck for over an hour watching me. Luckily a friend of mine who is also a truck driver just happened to call me and after me telling him what happened he says "Hey, where'd you say you were?" I told him Waco and he said he was just south of there on his way to TN. So I notified the company that I was catching a lift home and they said that was fine to take a few days to collect myself and they would arrange to get me back to complete my training. BTW, it has been a month later that this has happened and after returning to Richmond on my own dime I sat and waited for a week with nothing done to get me on a truck. I had a family emergency and returned home. I notified them of my returning home before doing so and got the ok. This has been 3 weeks ago and they still say nothing is available for my location. It was mentioned from them that I could do a "Q" fleet and then start a lease and I would have a truck the next day. So they basically tried to force me into a lease. They have also done this to multiple people I trained with. For the 21 days on the truck I have been paid a WHOPPING $400.00 out of what should have been 1200. My last two paychecks were 6 and 8 bucks. They have jerked me around the whole time. Now I have found out that the trainer that did all of this wasn't written up like they said, wasn't fined for forging logs, and is now back on the road training other drivers. Any company that would knowingly allow this is not a very good company at all. If ANYONE is interested in this company all I can say is RUUUUNNNN!!!. There is much more I could tell on here but I will save it for another post. I am currently seeking other employment. Oh one more note, all of this nearly cost my wife and children to become homeless. Thank God for a wonderful church who paid our bills for the month. The amount of unnecessary stress this company has cause me and my family is ridiculous.

Yep, but to be fair trainer horror stories like that ate hardly unique to cre, you get two people in close confines in stressful situations, away from thier loved ones and lots of people break.

My trainers at cre were okay, but I did note my phase 2 trainer being much harder to get along with once they didn't give him his hometime to see his daughter's graduation, they said they would but, instead of routing him to Georgia when he was in Tennessee the day before he wanted off they said they had a hot load to Washington state.

People just get crazy at times, I think the nature of the industry amplifies that, and I am lucky that I never had to deal directly with that level of crazy, but I have seen it at truckstops and terminals.

I had a student that was a bomb ready to go off, turned out he caught his Wife cheating on him with two different guys and this was somehow my fault. I dumped him in SLC and he had issues with his next two trainers. England didn't fire him though he somehow got a company position until one day he backed into a conway tractor at their facility. This former student called me and asked if there was anything I can do to help him from being fired, I told him to lose my number.

How much experience do you need to be a trainer at CRE? It seems very little.
