I'm not an IC, but I'm planning on doing it soon. I've talked to many Schneider ICs and they ones that have the new 2013s pay around $800/week for five years. A ballon payment of $70k is due at the end, or else you paid for noth.ing. I think it's best to buy lease a new truck with a warranty because all trucks breakdown.

Numbers are going to be hard for I/C's to give simply because you run percentage and pick your own loads therefore each I/C is going to be very different not to mention costs and hometime as well as how hard each driver runs. i would contact the recruiting dept and ask for a cpl screen shots of the load board and see the rates yourself and then determine your costs and see for yourself. as we all know drivers may embelish a little to favor their particular situation. Good Luck

Yeah but they still have their numbers they use. Even on % you would want to have your cost per mile. I was just wanting to see if its working for them. I have been looking at the program for a while now and I'm looking for a truck. Talked to their recruiter and she is going to let me check out the board.

But I still like to see others numbers :)

I don't know, new trucks are nice and all, but 800 x 52 x 5 equals something like 200 g's and then you still owe 70k. That's a lot of money. I bought an '07 century that's in decent shape, monthly payment around 1200 and after 4 years it's paid off. Think about it, even if my truck requires more repairs and maintenance my monthly payment is still half what it would be if I were leasing a new truck.

Oh yeah I know it's exspensive way to go. I'm also looking in to purchasing a truck. My bigger fear with that is having a major breakdown that I can't afford. I'm covered on the lease but like you said I'm paying to much for the truck. That's why I'm just wanting to see how much people are making to the truck. With a lease you would have to get 4k a week to end up with a decent income to take home. Thanks for advice

i saw used trucks that are already Pumpkin trucks on the website couple days ago
https://www.sfitrucks.com/Forms/sw20300_AllEquipment.aspx that would be the way to get your feet wet, just contribute heavy to your maintence fund. And save for the next one....
But to be honest.... In my years as a driver, a lot of people i worked with leased trucks, both new and used, and only a few really did a lot better in the long run......... But if you want to be owned by a truck, go for it.

WOW 5 years at 800 a week, now i know that includes your insurance and such but #### then you have a 70K baloon that no bank will finance at all, that is crazy talk,

ask any tow truck driver what trucks he tows more of they will tell you it is the new ones and warranty isn't all it is cracked up too be...

my 08 cost 80,000 after the finance charge i will be in it right around 98,000 so even if my truck cost more in maint. then it cost i am still 70k ahead of this new truck...

if you wan't to be an O/O you need to remember its not how many miles you drive its what you make for every mile that is driven

Whether is a new truck or old, you still need start up money! I would not lease a truck through SNI, $800 a week is very expensive for a newbie. On a new truck you might not pay for any repairs, but you still have down time for the truck. If it takes two weeks to fix truck, you already $1800 in the hole. From that day on you will be playing catch up. Fix cost does not stop, truck payment and insurance will continue to build up. I have ran the choice program, the rates are not setup for a big truck payment. My advice to you is save at least 15k, before you lease a truck. If you dont have 15k or more dont do it!!!!! Fair warning....

paccar sells 08 petes and kw's for 45G with 400,000 miles. just need 10% down with a 700 credit score. i can't imagine paying 70G for a 5 year old FL. my understanding is new truck prices are around 115.
