the way i understand is that mti runs your dmv and your background before they except you. can have up to three traffic violations in last three years. and 1 dui in past 5 years.
someone correct me if im wrong.
good luck to you. -
I wasn't planning to lie on the application anyhow, but just the thought that they could fire me for any other reasons and leave me with a 5k debt kind of scares me. Not that I plan to do anything to get me fired.
I haven't had a boss since 1982 (self-employed), so I suppose I'll have to get used to job insecurity. That's better than pay check insecurity, not to mention lack of benefits.
Good luck to you all at training. Please keep us posted on how everything is going and how training was. -
Im 56 and just applied there can you provide more information?

Here's the highlight of my day:
I spotted a Millis Transfer truck today in the Walmart parking lot in Albany, NY. First time I ever saw a MT truck in this area, and I look at all trucks passing by. It was a Kenworth T-700, nice and clean.
The driver was very nice and friendly. We had a long conversation as I was full of questions about the company and his personal experience as a driver in general.
He had nothing, and I mean NOT A THING bad to say about Millis Transfer. He has been driving for them for 9 years now, said he went there from Schneider. What he likes most about Millis is the superior home time and the no touch freight. He added that some companies may be as good as Millis, but not better. He said it was a sound company, not too big not too small, although it always slows down in the winter, the overall mileage is pretty good and constant. He's very pleased and has no plans of ever going elsewhere.
He also liked Schneider and said it's a great starter company w/ lots of support and help for new drivers. However, they do not hire out of my area, other than exp. drivers or teams.
Anyway, I thought I'd share this w/ you 'students' and 'wannabe's'. Nice to know veteran drivers are happy w/ this company. -
Thats good to know as I've been searching to make a career change and I believe millis will be it as long as I can pass a physical and get accepted! A lot of good info about them! -
