    Good post Triple six!
    All great things to ask.

Ours are 10 speeds,475 Cummins. They are assigned and we take them home.
Our oldest is a 2010 model with about 320k on it.
I am the second driver of mine and got it with 36k on it.
    I am at 298k now.

Another year and we get news ones.

Home time is good...every weekend. I usually get home on Thursday and off to Sunday or Monday

All of our trucks keep good rubber on them and are well taken care of.......That is a huge plus.

No tracking and paper logs.....I was happy about that!

Look, you need to really ask yourself why a good company even needs recruiters? The fact is, they don't.

Think about the recruiter concept. They need to recruit people. Why do they do it? A lot of turnover. They need to fill seats that have been vacated. The reason that a company has recruiters is to paint a rosie picture for the new drivers. Anything to get them in the door. And their words mean nothing! If it's not in writing, it doesn't exist.

I think that any company that has to resort to using recruiters is one I would stay away from! Period.

If a company were that good, there would be no need for the company to pay someone to recruit drivers. Word of mouth would spread faster. And please don't too many people say that they need recruiters because they are expanding. Their turnover proves that they are a bad company.

If you choose to go with a company that employs recruiters, you will have no one to blame but yourself when the recruiters promises fail to come true!

Our company does not use recruiters and we rarely ever hire new drivers.
Our driver turn over is very low.The only reason we are hiring is because our dedicated account is expanding.

All large companies, whether trucking or not, have recruiters/headhunters. It's not that the companies are bad companies, it's just that they are very large. A trucking company with thousands of trucks, needs a recruiter to keep the trucks moving. 100% of the drivers hired are not going to stay, everyone can't be made happy. When a recruiter on the phone won't immediately identify which company he is recruiting for, it's because he's recruiting for several & is trying to question you and see which company may be a good fit for you. After he figures which company is best, he will identify that company. The recruiter is looking for 10's of thousands of drivers for many, many companies. That's just the cold, hard facts of recruiting.

The mega-carriers, people complain about, are America's most successful carriers; that's why they're mega. The all have drivers that have been there 10-20 years and they didn't stay because they're unhappy.

I guess the OP has not checked back on this thread......
They are still interviewing and he could be passing up a good job.

The 40k they advertise in the ad is low....
I made over 60k last year.Plus they give a great Christmas bonus.

    Good points Triple Six,
Our trucks are 10 speeds with a 475 Cummins.
Not super fast but get down the road. (mine is faster than the rest of our trucks)....shhhhhh!

Home time is great, Many 3 day weekends and by the house sometimes during the week.
Our biggest customer base is in AL,GA,FL,TN,VA and NC.

I looked a long time for a gig like this.
I was throwing the job out there for another forum member. No recruiters,No BS just get an assigned truck and go...
They would ride with me on a short trip just to learn the routine then get their own truck.

Also we are a private carrier....All we haul is our own freight and get paid the same to run home empty.
Not a bunch of dealing with shippers and doing the waiting game!
