I actually built me a fold down ladder which fits into the stake pockets so for easy move front to back. Also with it folded in the up position give me a 4' ladder off my deck.
Yes I copied it from several different versions on the internet. Basically welded up some 1.5" square tubing.

Another tip, save wore out gloves for edge protectors under straps and chains. Also scrap rubber mud flaps are great edge protectors.
And lets not forget ratchet caps for the winches are very handy on the lower deck.
I've also put a full belly box in with 3/4 treated plywood, with a door on the front. Works great for my dunnage, and long vee boards.

Steel stakes made from u chanel with a piece of rod welded cross it and about 18 in long for the stake pockets to haul pipe so you can unchain then get under the trailer and hit them with 4 lb hammer and when they come out you will be protected if the pipe rolls off on the ground, instead of going on the pipe stand. Had it happen. Unloaded a load of surface pipe at a rig once and it sounded like giant bells every time a joint hit the rack. FUN!

I try to keep small pieces of plywood 12"by12" or Rubber Matting to put under things such as landing gear in trailers.....farm implements that have pointed edges or just anything that might maybe beat the floor of your trailer up while it's riding down the road

    Lots of good tips, including.
do yo have any pics to see what it looks like? I have seen the ladders on the internet and wondering how you have improved it to make it more ergonomic.

More like, it walked off or he lent it and it was never returned. I do not even lend my air gauge.

roflmao.. now thats some funny sheet there. Someone did post a pic of a 45k lb coil with the chain hooks hooked to the rub rail.
