Just to clarify....Stevens is not an OTR Company, they are a TRAINING COMPANY. Everybody has to start out somewhere which 9/10 means at the bottom and working your way up to a good OTR Company which to me means 1. Good cpm/weekly miles 2. Friendly Home-Time Policy 3. Breakdowns are handled effiecently 4.Pay/Entitlements are processed like clock-work 5.Benefit Coverages are good 6. Not watching the grass grow at the shipper/receiver 7. RUNNING LEGAL. The time a newbie spends at a training outfit varys such as whether or not you are on the hook for tuition. If you are not on the hook move to greener pastures after 6 months. Everybodys expectations and hunger for moving up in the industry are differant. I started out with Stevens NOT on the hook for tuition and stayed only 7 months....When I left I was making 28cpm, hired on with a OTR oufit started at 38 cpm, 4 months later was increased to 41cpm. I would say that Stevens is well-rounded if you are looking to learn the right way. Come in with your eyes open and understand that no company is perfect.

After 1 year at Stevens any other trucking company will hire you. The first year with any training company will be thin on pay while you get you feet on the ground. The long term drivers at Stevens are usually Alliance lease drivers, If you have good biz sense and train a few drivers each year can make good money.
