It means that if a union exists in a given line of work, and there is in fact a union representing labor at that work and has a collective bargaining agreement, you have to be a member of the union to work there.

    Mdbluecrab Thanks this.

I know this is an old post but .....

A "Right to Work State" means companies have the right to hire and fire whomever they want, anytime they want.
It has absolutely nothing to do with any kind of labor union. :biggrin_2559:

And while on the subject, you do NOT have to join a union at a union represented company, though I would strongly advise that you do join.

It should say right to work for less. Also means you dont have to join a Union to work in that State.

You're confusing 'employment at will' and 'right to work'.

Employment at will: An employer or employee may terminate employment for just cause, unjust cause or no cause at all.

Right to work: An employee may or may not join a union which represents a bargaining unit at their workplace. With that being said, employees who work in non-right to work states must join the union that represents their bargaining unit.

im going to get my drug test and physical and road test done tomorrow they're starting me off at a "targeted" rate of 45k a year with 60% of that being base pay and 40% being commission im really not sure how im going to be earning commission so right now im really oblivious as to what my paycheck is going to look like. Can anyone chime in on how this 60% base and 40% commission works?

Generally what that means is you'll have a base pay plus you'll get paid so much for each case delivered to customer...in other words...you're a rolling delivering saleman.
