I pulled a 48 flat spread w/ a W9 and I also have full fiberglass fenders on my drives.
I had the trailer main frame beam hit the fender when I had to cut it hard w/ a load on (backing into a spot at Flying J in TN because trucks were parked along side the curves making various empty parking spaces very hard to get to). I won't park illegal, even in truck stops. I pay attention to the fenders during turns at dips (steep drive ways, job sites, etc...) and I don't use winches forward of my light bar. I use either Porta-winches (goes into stake pockets), ratchet straps or chains forward of my light bar /over the fenders.
I just bought a 53' Benson Low Step and I've relocated (2) out of (4) winches from the upper deck to the lower deck because of the same issues.Attached Files:
