If it is a van slide the tandems up one hole as well

 

I can't say I've ever had a scale check the axle rating on my truck. I'm surprised that you can't get 360lbs off in fuel if it is bothering you that much. Thats only 50 gals or so. You might have to stop more often to put a little on but it will make you rest easier.

According to Michelin:

Single tires- per axle:

12350# for G rated @ 105 PSI

13220# for H rated @ 120 PSI

 

I would do the fuel deal. A gallon of diesel fuel weighs 7.86lbs per gallon. With a set back front axle 75% of that 7.86lbs will come off the steer axle. I know this is getting real technical now, but with only 360lbs over on your steer you have a tremendous amount of info to digest.

 

this will depend on what type of truck they are running and where the tanks are loacated...

your charged for every 100 pounds. not 500 pounds.

typically it's a set rate up to 1000 pounds. then it goes from there.

and fuel doesn't always 7.86 pounds. every station is different, depending on the blend and chemicals. bio used or not. and summer vs. winter blend.
7.5 is more the average. we haul bio fuel at 7.15 pounds.
