if you understand the fundamental mentality of truckers, you'd know that either you park early and get a spot, or you wait for the reefers to leave after midnite and get a free spot up close.

I definitely get your point. Unfortunately, they won't likely go out of business with guys like we have on here that continue to support bad ideas and pay for crap they shouldn't have to pay for. They like to say just go somewhere else if you don't like it. Pretty clear they miss our point. Now I don't want those places to go out of business. Just because I don't think it's a good idea doesn't mean I don't want to do business with these places. I've paid money for stuff I was buying anyway and got to park without having to pay more for the parking. This new deal doesn't work that way. I believe many people on here thinks it does. They'll never sell me on this being a good idea the way it's set up now. No way this helps me out so why would I like the idea? They say we have choices. No s#!t! My choice is to not like the idea. That's it. I'm not trying to be cheap or hurt anyone's business. I just think it's not a good idea for us drivers in the long run. Thanks for your input.

the 49er in Sacremento you pay to park or get 24 hours will 75 gallon purchase, and with that purchase you get good coupons to the resturaunt.. shop and wash bay..
i like this idea -
I can't fault you for that. If I got that kind of discount I would also make them my top place to fuel. For me it is more food driven. Anymore I'm cooking half my meals out of the truck, just because I am so sick of the same menu, over and over and over. Probably loosing weight because when I arrive hungry, go in and amazingly my appetite has disappeared. I kinda spread my business around all over. To me all the large chains fail in one way or another. FJ used to have it before peelot took them over ...

There is a restaurant in a city close to where I live that charges $7 for parking[to get into the lot]. It is right downtown in prime real estate. They have about 25 spaces. That $7 coupon can be redeemed inside same as cash for anything inside. It just so happens to be they have a very large alcoholic beverage that is signature to that place, for, you guessed it, $7. The system works well for that place.

Now I have yet ANOTHER reason NOT to go to TA's and Petro's. For my money, a safe place to park IS in a crowded noisy Pilot, Flying J, Irving or Love's.

While that isn't bad, it still does not gaurantee a parking place. That is the beauty of the reserved parking program, it does.
