Deals like this are out there, more than you think, and from what I have seen this one is on the low end of the pay scale. But I would still do it.
Some loads are better than others.

I wouldnt strap it for 1/2 a mile

I talked to a guy a number of years ago that was running Keebler Cookie loads in PA. Plant to Plant I think he said, short haul and he was making $4/mile at it. Super light and paid super good. They are out there but just not that common

Did not strap it, and it is true. I get quite a few loads that pay 200 bucks [ my minimum ] for less than 10 miles.
As Oscar said, there are good deals out there, just have to work hard, find the shippers who are willing to pay for good service, then do them a good job. You have to not follow the crowd, but be prepared to do whatever it takes to get the job done. I just posted the info on the 1/2 mile load because it was so good, better than average.EZX1100 Thanks this. -
My favorite is when the Air Force calls up and wants equipment moved on base. Those take all day but pay a weeks worth of wages

Yessir, they are already staged in 2 lines, I pull in between the lines, they place 3 on 1 side of the flat, move to the other side of the trailer, put all 6 on that side, then go back to the other side and place the other 3.
