profit sharing was replaced with something that actually works out better than the old system which was not truly related to profits anyway, hadnt been for years.Insurance is higher ... no contest. Never seen a camera inside Any of our trucks....Have YOU??? You dont have to follow the navigo route, just dont get crazy with your own mileage...at true hub mileage pay it adds up. Yes, a driver will be asked to write a incident form for hard braking or stabilization events and yes someone who gets "more than his fair share" of these type events will be counseled and asked to pay more attention to the manner in which he/she drives . 30 days of cell bill is NOT policy YET ,but if you work for Wal-Mart then you know why it has gotten this far ...we have had a hands free policy for many years and many people ignored it ,just as many drivers are now ignoring federal mandate for hands free, dont blame the companies...blame your fellow drivers. Mandatory work week extensions at my location are rare and are just starting this past week for holiday season, could possibly be different at other domiciles. The idea of interegional driving might be a little misleading to most that work places where they truly drive or have the possibility of driving all over the country. If youre a walmart driver when was the last time you went further away from your home terminal that you couldnt be back LEGALLY in time to go home calling what we do long distance is really pushing the envelope and insulting to any driver who truly remembers what long distance trucking is.

Just found this thread. I hope things are going OK for you Mortar (KY24). You stated things took a turn for the worse when you became an Independent Contractor. Can you elaborate on that? How is the environment at Superior? Any major changes? I checked and the nearest terminal to me is in St. Gabriel, LA. Any of you guys have experience with that terminal? Thanks for any replies.

This is a pretty old thread and if you followed KY24/ Morter Man on this board you know how he rolled. He pretty much had a rose colored view of every company he worked for starting out and started threads singing their praises.

Superior is a good company and I am happy there but it isn't as hard to get into as Walmart and doesn't pay as well either. St Gabriel is a good terminal IMHO but I have only been there a few times. Always got out pretty fast.

Most of the Superior threads are here:

If you tried to buy everything American made, not only would you not find most of what you now have in your home but you couldn't afford to purchase it. Unless of course your a millionaire which I highly doubt as your posting on a trucking blog.

Walmart always gets the blame for selling products made in China, namely because its easy to pick on the biggest retailer in the world. Well here is an update for you, I been a trucker hauling goods and services across America for 20 years, Here's what people don't know, whether I'm hauling goods to Target, Best Buy, J.C. Penny's Distribution centers etc. Its all coming in from off shore countries such as India, Malasia Vietnam, Mexico etc. You may want to check the labels on your clothes and products you have bought at other places other Walmart.

You're saying people don't know that 95% of the retailers sell products from Mexico, Vietnam, etc?

Which rock have you been under for the last 30 years?

Sounds like a great savings plan.
    Only buy American.
You'll rarely have to open your wallet.
