McLane foodservice out of Sturtevant, WI? You can say I know quite a bit about them.
They deliver to Yum restaurants (KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silvers) and other restaurants. They will be getting a new account (Buffalo Wild Wings) starting Jan. 1, so they're currently hiring. Their routes are 1, 2, and 3 day routes, mostly night-time dispatch. Company paid motels for 2 and 3 day routes. All product is hand unloaded with dolly and ramp. I think they hire inexperienced drivers fresh out of school because they were at a driver's job fair at Waukesha County Technical College. Their pay is based on miles, stops and cases. Their are four tiers of pay: 1st year is 1st tier, 2nd year is 2nd tier etc.. Experienced foodservice drivers skip their way up to 3rd tier to start, and go up to full pay after a year. Routes are bid on by seniority. Most new guys start out on the extra board, filling in for vacations, call in sick days, overflow, new business, etc. First year drivers can expect to make 50k+, top scale drivers can expect to make 70k+. Good health insurance, they have information on that on their website. They have a killer 401k match, which is a discretionary match based on profitability. In the last several years, the company match is better than dollar for dollar.
Enough rambling. From what I know, McLane Sturtevant is a great place to work if you want to get into foodservice. They have low turnover for a foodservice company because they treat their drivers well. I have spoken with their Operations Manager (Rob M.) and he's a stand up guy. I know a few drivers who work there personally as well (my old co-workers from Reinhart LOL) and they like it. But there's no BS'ing you, this IS physical work, and it's not for everybody. But if you want to put in some tough work and make great money and killer benefits, McLane would be a good choice.Marky84 Thanks this. -
I know a guy who worked for them out of, either Stafford or Manassas, VA and he worked his way up from the warehouse to be a driver for them. He said he liked it, but the work was back breaking, so he left to be a mechanic. I see the adverts for them around here, they all claim 70k+ with 1 year exp.

If you're interested in Food Service, Reinhart Food Service in Oak Creek is hiring "Driver Trainees" right now. I just interviewed with them.
