Yes, this will happen. Everyone already knows that Kalifornia is a seperate country just like Canada, they just try to fool everyone by saying the are part of the United States.

As I've posted before--Commiefornia CAN strong arm the gov't because it is the only state that gets LESS back in highway funding than they sent to Washington--this has been going on since Wilson was governor and told Wash to stick it when they tried their typical blackmailing the states into passing certain laws or risk losing their highway funding--but as for an O/O being carb compliant--and/or being a dinosor as someone put it.....Riddle me this? If you are not based in Cali--or an adjoining state--Why on earth would have even considered going there in the last 10 years? Rates today are at a 20yr low--there are plenty of good freight lanes in this country--and as a single truck o/o or small fleet owner--there is no possible way you can make up the money spent becoming carb compliant--with the rates there--arguably some of the inbound rates may have risen slightly--but outbound really? seriously? It makes NO SENSE to me
    Just my $.02

Might be a 2006 the engine is usually one year behind the year of the truck

So an 04 Pete 379. When would that need a carb? It's an O/O only truck. Do you guys think this stuff will keep getting pushed back? I read that freightliner said the cascadia is maxed out mpg wise...they don't know how to squeeze anymore out of it without taking away options for buyers. I'm sort of hoping natural gas works for semis, so all the big companies use those for their trucks, and O/O's can stay diesel and all this kind of settles down..is that a possibility? Or is trucking forever ruined :(

Do you really think natural gas is going to go big? I don't. What do you think the middle east will do to the price of oil when natural gas actually makes financial sense to burn that instead? What do you know, diesel will be back to 2.50 or something a gallon. Just low enough to keep natural gas out of the market. I would bet this is what will happen.

Natural gas I believe will be for small, very local uses, such as those small brown UPS trucks and the like. The only selling point MIGHT be "it is green so you should pay us a bit more to ship your stuff." I can't see it ever being widely used as diesel is today.
