okay, not to stereotype females...it's just a matter of miscommunication it's just that i've experienced a lot of resentment from female HR personnel at every job i've applied for , when i've been interviewed by a female and had to explain this incident.

they all seem to think this is some lifetime movie scenario. you know, where i've been driving the tractor trailer ALL DAY LONG. and in their minds, I am tired, weary, sweat dripping off my brow, the stench of abuse and southern comfort lingering on my breath-- i come home after a hard day's work, only to find that my dear old submissive wife has burned the roast, *and* I had a bad day at work when that one motorist cut me off-- so I'll take out my frustrations on her face-- so i relentlessly beat her just to prove that i am in charge.

when the reality is, your wife wants full custody ? just throw something across the room, dial 911, and start yelling. police come, take away the man, DA won't drop the case thanks to our dear old friend OJ simpson and lifetime movie propaganda, and now the man's thrown in the same catagory as a registered sex offender.

california dv laws are bunk. nobody seems to be aware of the fact that domestic violence, or god forbid sexual allegations (or drug abuse allegations/mental instability allegations) are the number one strategies in winning a divorce/custody battle?? i've been to the court house, and almost every single man who'se fighting for custody are accused of 'domestic violence.' He said something I didn't like! he's an abuser. he looked at me the wrong way! he's an abuser. he didn't do exactly what I wanted, and now I am frustrated--he is mentally abusing me! He pushed me off when I was hititng him in the face, and I didn't like it--he made unwanted physical contact with me--he is a batterer. He didn't take out the garbage, and now i'm annoyed--he violated the restraining order.

enough ranting. thanks for the support guys and gals.

As everyone already knows, I was not on probation for a Misdemeanor when I went to CDL school, I was on Parole with a felony.

Someone will always put up road blocks in your life. It is how you handle them that makes a difference. What bothers me about this tread is that you seem to always make light of your crime. Violence against a woman is the act of a coward. I do not like cowards. I would not hire you. Not until you admitted to yourself that you need to change. Once you change we can talk about it.

Love is something that needs to be nurtured not tortured.

This is exactly what I meant by "not gender specific bias".
If you've never been a victim of false domestic violence allegations you have no idea what you're talking about.
Rule #1 - Don't make her MAD or she can ruin your life with just a call, if she wants to.
It's illegal to "raise your voice" towards your wife or "frighten her" in many jurisdictions.
If the cops are called to a house, they take the man, no questions asked - - that's the law.
You been watchin' too many Lifetime network dramas Wooly...there's a whole other side to what happens.

Yeah, so often the facts get distorted. in california, you go to jail for DV as soon as somebody dials 911. no fact checking. nothing of that sort. she said you did it, so you're guilty. you lose custody, you lose professional licensures, you lose your firearms--all that before you are even convicted.

i'm not minimizing this misdemeanor. i'm just stating the facts. Nobody got injured. Nobody even got hurt. Somebody got irritated and dialed 911 to have the police 'talk to me.' Maybe in other states, it's a classic cut-and-dry account of hitting your woman. In california, it becomes criminal as soon as the police get involved. If you have a loud argument with your wife, and your neighbors dial 911--you get arrested, in spite of the facts.

Stevens Transport does an extremely thorough background check, to the point of turning up things that are on your Juvenile record and things that have been expunged. If you happen not to list them thinking it's no big deal, you will find yourself kicked out of Orientation and on a Greyhund headed home (at your expense!)

I was just giving you grief. Personally I hate a man who hits a woman or a child more than anything in this world, but I can honestly say I have met women that make me wonder why their husbands haven't been driven to that point. I have also had to deal with my husband's crazy ex wife who would tell any lie she possibly could to put him in a bind. And I have seen first hand how the courts generally take the woman's side, which I think is totally unfair. So, yes I can see it from both sides. Which, in my opinion a good HR person should be able to do. If they can't have somewhat of an open mind and see things from different points of view, they won't be capable of doing their job effectively.

When I was getting a divorce from my first husband, we got in a huge fight one night and I called the cops, mostly because he would not leave me alone and I could see it turning violent on my end, so I was protecting him kind of. When the cops got there they asked me at least 10 times if he had hit me and I kept telling them no I just wanted him to leave, I didn't feel threatened, I just wanted him out of my house and he wouldn't go. It was almost like they wanted me to say he hit me so they could arrest him. So yeah it is very easy for a woman to falsely accuse someone and cause a huge problem in their life.
