Each company has its pros and cons ... The last company I worked for had great miles and a customer base that ran through my home town but management did some silly stupid things that made it harder for every driver. There are very few ideal companies out there.
My suggestion is to create a list of deal breakers and go from there ... -
That was on craigslist, and is exactly how trucking is for everyone.
They forgot to
put in the pics of the hot chics and gourmet food you eat daily -

Dude, there are hella hot chicks in trucking. Remembering back to the Petro buffet table, the sweaty-hot (and heavy) gal in the company jacket, feeding her truckin' chihuahua chicken tenders. Wish I had the photo to back it up, ####.

I will have to agree with you. Heartland's recruiters have been nothing but rude when I politely inquired about a job. When I asked one lady recruiter about a sign-on bonus she told me I should buy my own trucking company if I wanted one-enough said about Heartland. Don't let fancy trucks lead you to these big mega carriers. Even though Heartland promises 52 cents a mile-I have talked to many of their drivers who only get 2300 miles a week. They seem to be a micro-managed company full of do's and don'ts.

You'd think since they have nice equipment they'd be a better company. Not always the case...
