I know this post is somewhat dated but Navistar is bringing back Cummins with def because issues with the Maxforce engines.

 

Yes, tomorrow I will give a chance for the Prostar with Cummins. I did not consider with the Maxxforce. Although I am pretty much sold on KW T680 or Pete 579:

Hey Dale, I sale these trucks in El Paso and have got to say your going the right route. If youve seen any negative reports it might have to do with the MaxxForce. Its a fantastic motor when its running well but there are more breakdown stories with it over the Cummins. Most drivers prefer the prostar for its gigantic cab user friendly controls and great fuel economy. hard to go by reviews from others, you just need to hop in one and give it a drive.

I purchased an Intl ProStar MaxxForce paid $30k 2 years ago and have spent over $40k in repairs. Selling it and taking a big loss. Run Run Run from the MaxxForce engine.

 

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. This post was made in 2012.

I have 2015 prostar, with a Cummins. I have my Tc, check engine and abs flashing. Took it to my mechanic and when he plugged up the computer, my abs was fine and so was engine but we needed to change pedal sensor. We changed it and it worked for to days, now the same warnings came back up. This is driving me crazy. Has anyone ran into this problem???? And if so how did you get it fixed??????

 

A few sticks of dynamite will take care of that.
