i can give you a comparison of mobil 1 and our shop oil. big difference in not only mpg. but everything else. with mobile 1 being the winner

I run Shaffers Supreme 9000 witch is a full synthetic oil.
I run it because I got family contacts with the local rep through my brother.
Anybody that starts a engine in below zero with 5w-40 will never run 15w-40 again.
Shaffers is got a good line of lubricants, there grease is the tackies stuff you can buy but in the,, end its all about ability of a quality product.
I would guess there is little or no difference in Mobile 1 -
Delvac 15w40 or Mobil one I may be biased since I pulled Mobil products but my truck always used more oil with rotella then delvac

My favorite? Once I got a heck of a deal at TSC...their "Travelers" store brand. It was $5/bucket cheaper than the Rotella, so I decided to get it since I wasn't happy with where prices were going. I decided to have them get the buckets from the back, though, so they wouldn't have to restock the front shelf. The manager comes back out and asks if I'd like to have some of the "clearance" buckets....same oil, just the old packaging. Clearance price? $9.99/bucket. Yes, that's for 5 gallons of oil. I had only intended to buy 3 buckets...enough to change my oil and have some at the house to add if/when I needed it...but for that price, I asked how many buckets they had. I bought 'em all. 21 buckets in total. I had all the oil I'd need for the next 2 years....and it only cost me $210.
Unfortunately, that oil has run out...so I'm back to buying either Delvac or Rotella...whichever I can find when it's time to change the oil. I prefer Delvac, because it's usually a couple bucks cheaper than the Rotella...and the gallon jug I carry in the side box has a real handy pour spout....but Rotella is literally available EVERYWHERE. I prefer to buy 5 gallon buckets...easier to refill with the used oil I drain out so I can take it to town and get rid of it...so whatever oil I use has to be available by the bucket. -
I agree with Mobil One being proven in the racing industry many times.

Two oils I have had good success with. Mystik JT-8 15w40 synthetic blend and Chevron Delo 15w40. Using the Delo in the engine I have now, since that is what it had in it, so just stuck with it. Will be switching soon to Delo 5w40 synthetic on next oil change. Picked it primarily because I can get it at Wally World for just under $20 a gallon. We'll see how that works out. If it doesn't give good results, will probably go back to the Mystik I was using before. The last time I got that stuff, it was $58 for a 5 gal pail at my local farm and home store. It sure gave real good wear numbers on the oil samples in my last engine.

I like the Mobil Delvac MX, it still carries a additive package for older engines, which the new oils have been formulated away from.
