Well if they have a shortage there is a reason for it.

I think a lot of the younger drivers who go out for driving find that it interferes with their home life, esp if they have kids, they are wanting more home time.

A lot of the drivers now are going through the CDL mill schools where they are trained in a very short time and turned lose with a lease payment and all the other varied sums taken out of their pay check, solo runs, and not enough miles to pay for it; in a lot of cases if they have enough money for food it is a wonder, in this case they bail before going bankrupt.

Not enough money, the payrate is terrible, esp when you can clear less money than 20yrs ago.

Lack of respect at receivers and shippers, they don't care if they keep you sitting 8 hrs to load/unload a truck therefore eating up your time and money.

Not enough room at truckstops or parking areas to comply with HOS, esp if you are on E-log.

More and more issues with compliance with EPA standards, etc., they don't care if you have to freeze or roast in a hot truck to comply and get your rest; of course if you are a dog or cat now that is a different story.

It is getting very unsafe out there for truckers with robberies and killings.

Maybe if the powers that be started addressing and fixing some of these issues there would be a turn around. The main one reporting, CR England is a ringleader on the list that needs fixing, find out how many accidents, and rollovers have occurred because of the blind leading the blind.

i bet tribe transport pays .25 a mile...

kids these days, who only think about smoking pot and clubing on the weekends, dont want to spend 3 weeks out of the road for 500 dollars a week.

Why did tribe buy trucks for drivers it didn't have? The "if you build it they will come" mentality? Never heard of them but it would be logical to assume another company operated by a bunch of brokers who haven't a clue what a driver wants or needs in a job...all for a quarter a mile and fueling at those massive parking lot truck stops of Loves and Pilots while delivering 4 stops in the Northeast grocery warehouses. Hard to figure ain't it.

Some companies just can't grasp the concept of dedicating your life to trucking living in less than normal conditions and working for peanuts. $57,000 is good money when you work 40 hours a week, eat a home cooked meal with your wife and kids that cost $3 a serving and crawl in your own bed. If you want you can go out on the town, go to your kids ballgame or even have a hobby in your spare time. They don't think about any of them sacrifices.

They are all out there for maximum profit and refuse to pay a driver what he is really worth. They are content with drivers quitting. The few that pay their drivers a $100K have a very low turnover rate. You get what you pay for.

As a successful company profits and grows, additional monies go to the owners and stockholders. Stop being so greedy and share. Then you won't have employment problems.

But that VP making $200K a year it just blows his mind! :)

I agree. England is a bottom feeder that has the mentality of "well if ya get six months out of them, well that's six months of revenue" mentality and then the recruiter spouts this garbage of some drivers clear 100k per year....yep some do, just not at england.
