Ft. Stockton, TX. All of 520 miles to complete this one. Why is it that everytime that I am going into Houston, the GPS wants to route me on the toll road.

Contractor of toll road and TX risk management , came to a understanding at beginning of contract for the toll Road, that for them to make any money, that at the beginning of each year when gps company's made contact with the state for information on new / shortest / etc roads that the toll road would be listed as such .

squeak ... Swift pays the tolls and if Houston is like the G Bush in Dallas it's license plate, no toll booths.

Phoenix ... sign the contract and get my new truck tomorrow.

The Sam Houston actually has a couple of booths on it. Five axle, $7.00 each booth. Not sure about when I have flown thrown the others. I do know that it calls for a couple of different type pass cards.

Actually I am buying ... My preference would have been my existing truck. But the requirements are set by the leasing company, Navistar in my case. Basically they want 30% of the retail (works out to 20% of the actual buy out value) and a 9.3% AZ sales tax charge.

I have the cash, but I would have been left with only $1k-$2K in reserve.

I was looking to possibly do another 2 year lease, then buy that truck, then decided to look into buying a program truck - like the Columbia and I heard rumor of V670s for sale now ... turned out they are also selling some Prostars. So I'm getting a twin of what I have now ... buyout will be for 3 years, no cash out of pocket, payments effectively the same as what I have now.

It's a converted company truck that they've gussied up with some lug nut and hub covers and some of those fanciful side decals.

    fr8monkey and scottied67 Thank this.
