Hello Everyone,
I have been concerned about DVT lately. As most of us know,we truckers are at big Risk because of the nature of our work!
I want to do something to prevent having a Stroke or something worse! We've all herd the cases. Even younger healthy peolpe can suffer from this if they stay seating for too long. I want to gather knowledge on what works what, doesnt work ect. The best thing to do is to stop regularly and walk around. I know that. But sometimes you have to Ironbutt it and you just cannot afford to stop. I want to have an alternative. I have been looking online and talking to some people including Dr. Daliah on her forum and there are many products to helpwith this: DVT socks (hose), machines, drugs. etc. Please share what you have tried and if it works or if it was a waste of money.
Thanks!!!
What to do to prevent DVT / What works and what doesnt?

Anybody Unsing any of these? -
I make it a point to keep my legs moving, even only a little. Little jumps with your feet is all it takes. Only need to do it for a few minutes an hour. Hope it is working.
Rob.G Thanks this. -
Yeah, I have heard that before too. Aparently when you contract your calf muscles circulation improves. I guess that's what the Geko does http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3sW5QeLyiw. Moving is highly recomended... and sttoping and walking around as well.

My cousin is a high risk DVT. He drives a Dump truck in the GTA. Hes on blood thiners and his doctor actully recomended to him to use the Venowave. He is thinking about buying it and he actually asked me if I knew anything about it. But I had never heard about this until now.
It is $500 tho. Thats kind of a lot if you aks me.
This is a helpful thread for sure! Ill keep my eye on it!
Thanks -
Nice to know Kevin_GMC! I am thinking this is one of the products that is looking more and more legit to me. If a doctor recomended it. There is also this video on youtube with doctors talking about it in it.

Yeah, I would say be skeptical but if doctors are already recommending it well that is a good sign. Is this a new thing?? how come I've never heard about it before? New invention?

Hey Rob.G Just came accross this thing on Overdrive the trucker Magazine. I am becoming a fan of the Venowave as well I guess. Its approved by the FDA for DVT.
