Want to meet a whole Facebook group of almost 100 members who all had the same lousy experiences at Marten? Do a search for The Truth about Marten Transport on Facebook. You can call ######## all you want but it is the truth.

Hey bigkid2......if you did well at all your other companies, why aren't you still with the last one?

Because I am always looking to move to better companies. When I said I did well it is pretty much as well as is possible at that company. Take now for instance I will clear about $100,000 this year but I am still looking for something better.

I wonder why he took that video down of him cursing and threating the employees?? Even a group of People who HATE Marten think it's Smaggs who causes his own problems!!

All you have to do is look at Smaggs post history. This guy has been complaining from the start even when he started out on his own with Knight trans. Something about someone calling him ahole in Fontana when he worked for Knight for blocking people in, He went on a rant then about disrespect, And now the same issues with Disrespect at Marten For a grease monkey checking his apu hours.

I think he is figuring out the Trucking industry is not for him.

Marten is a nightmare company to work for. I averaged 1500 miles a week and begged them to run me hard. I was a top driver at the company before, and now with the one I'm with now. I've run 75k miles the last 6 months at 42cents a mile when you count all the bonuses. (41.6 to be exact)....

I never had problems getting off time with Marten, and they do have nice equipment. But they make you wash it for free. Charge you for perdiem, and you don't make squat. The driver manager I had said that they just wanted me to get at least 6k miles a month. I was there almost a year, and only had 1 or 2 loads longer than 1000 miles (just barely)

They have such a huge turnover rate, that if you don't stay for 6 months, they will charge you for you orientation costs ( Hotel, Dot Physical), and will stamp your DOT Med Card andnlong form... "Good while employed at Marten" So even if you pay for it, it's no good unless you know how to use white out and copy..

Marten was the absolutely lowest paying driving gig I have ever had, and what amazes me is how they get experienced drivers. I don't think they hire trainees. They have very clever marketing, and I was fooled.

As far as asking any driver how much they make working there (or anywhere); keep in mind that some will lie to get a referral bonus, or out of embarrassment. Ask to see a stub. If they are trying to get you with the company, and have already told you how much they make... It's not really a secret.

I wish I had visited this forum before hiring on with them. Even so I did make the best of it, left on good terms with a job lined up to go to. The pay was so low with them that many times my child support would not get fully taken out of my paycheck because of a law that says they can't take more than half of your paycheck. In other words I had checks on many occasions that were less than $300 per week which is pathetic. I would have been better off going on unemployment if it weren't for my pride, and wanting to get ahead in life.

I also spent a lot of time sitting, and didn't detention pay half the time. I also noticed that they paid household mover miles, unless on the rare occaison that exact miles was less. Then they would pay you exact miles. So as you can see, there seems to be a pattern with Marten which is screw the driver any way you can...

I have never been or will be paid blogger.
Even when i worked at Marten and life was good, i still didnt see any extra in my paycheck, for bragging them up.
I read Smaggs posts for the get go, and he to was not a paid blogger. He was writing form his expreance, as i was.
Now if you want a cheerleader page onFB. go over and search for bluebird lounge.
According to every one there, life at marten is nothing but sweet smelling roses. They also remove any and all negitive posts about marten. Yes the even the founder of the page as well as some of thier buddies, will ##### and moan about marten.
