After 6months they sent me a QC message asking me to take the trainer class. Ofc there is no way in the world I would do that, not only would that mean training, but giving up my hometime and my kw t660 for a cascadia on top of that. I dont see why in the world company drivers like me would ever become a trainer.

JCAL, I am confused here, you have one year of driving time and you were a Trainer at CRE?

I still don't understand why a noob would ever consider going with a company that PUSHES YOU into a lease within your first 90 days. Here's a littlebit of fact for all the noobies thinking about cre and leasing; Despite what you think, or how many times you've read your states CDL manual, you don't know #### about ####. I've been doing this for two years, local and over the road. I still consider myself ignorant to many, MANY aspects of the industry. Recently my boss approached me about lease purchasing a straight truck from his fleet. This type of trucking is in a much less regulated sector of the industry, and when you couple that with my experience, it seemed like a no brainer. I still said NO. Thanks but no thanks. I want a little more than a year or two's experience before I decide to OPEN MY OWN BUSINESS.
Think about it like this; Would you use your own money to open a fishing depot if you didn't know what a tackle box was? Would you invest in a sports collectables franchise without knowing who Cal Ripkin was? Or would you start up a fry cook operation if you didn't even know how to work a grill?? It sounds extreme, but thats essentially what we're talking about when we mention ppl with little to no experience investing their own money in an industry they've only just barely become familiarized with.
Take time to learn the ropes. When you're thinking about investing your own time, money an energy in to something that will essentially demand everything (and then some), wouldn't you feel a lot better knowing you've got atleast a couple solid years of experience under your belt? Whats two or three years in the long run if it greatly increases your chances at a successful entrepreneurship?? -
anyone who goes to this company has no right to complain!!, There are many places you can go to to find out how awefull this company IS!, You get the advise and chose not to accept it?, thats your right, but accept the chose and move on

To be fair, there is a lot of words on the internet, which many people put no stock in. I am sure I can a forum that claims evidence for David Icke's conspiracy theorys that lizard men from another dimension rule us all. While at the same time CRE pumps out plenty of propaganda, and probably pays a few people to say good things about them online too.
It isn't like the evening news is going undercover and exposing this company in a manner people are going to trust, perhaps they should, but internet reviews are just not credible in lots of peoples minds, and it isn't so easy to look up the court cases against them.
As for members of this forum, you are correct there is plenty of advice as to not choose England, and if you are here, you should probably put stock in the advice people give you, otherwise why bother being here. -
Yes. That's correct. And for the guy that wrote a book on his training experience.... Not all the trainers are like that. I certainly wasn't. And as far as being forced into a lease. That's false. They can't legally do that.

Who does? You don't earn a paycheck from any company until you are hired on as an employee.

Actually sir, if you research, a considerable amount of companies do. For example, TransAm trucking company pays you $50 per day from day one you are in training. That is from the first day you go to their school in Olathe, KS. There are many other companies that do the same. I will note that most of those that do are only companies who train people who already hold their cdls. Plus during the "upgrade" portion of CRE's training after you have completed phase 1 you don't get paid anything during that time. This is AFTER you are an employee. This period of time is usually 4-7 days that you get no pay. That is only if you complete it in that amount of time.

Actually, they get paid $25 per day, if they check in with their TC every day.
