Yeah i turned down a stupid load going to LA, it was just plain stupid as I know something good will happen tomorrow as you are right SHC, Texas is usually good on a Friday otherwise, no problem sitting all weekend.
-
Shc your eating alot of gravy with those altoona runs!
Mommas_money_maker and SHC Thank this. -
Unload today in Western WA. Gonna run down to Portland and visit family tomorrow. Run over to Eastern Wa on Sunday to load 25,000 pounds, no tarp Monday, to Denver.
I love how people are always saying only trash and leftovers hit our loadboard.SHC, Cluck Cluck and Mommas_money_maker Thank this. -
I once hauled a "priceless" pipe mold for Landstar for a very good rate

there was a bunch of laport to.okc loads i turned down for today. paid ok but there isnt any more freight there then there is here
SHC Thanks this. -
I ran inot a similar problem as well. I was offered quite a few loads out of the Pittsburgh area going to dead area's like Tulsa, Vegas and Phoenix. Sure they paid well, but once I figured in the bounce to a load, it just make sense to take the lighter load that paid a little less, going to an area I know I can get freight from.
-
Basically. The 1 load pays a weeks worth of wages, but I don't want to bounce empty just because it paid me well enough to do so. There is freight in the area (and NOT going to CT/NH/ME/MD) I just had to wait for one to come available.
