You need to check his payheck if they give you one..every driver i was told was deducted 37 dollarsa week for a 300 grand life ins. policy. sorry to hear about your husband.. I know that every driver an their wifes will pray for you. We as drivers need to educate an take a stand against companies like this..Without drivers they are out of business

Its important to note that GreatWide has independent agents. The agents themselves make 10% less whatever fuel surcharge they pay out. I would agree that the vast majority of these trucking companies are crooks. Its doesn't matter. Landstar, Acme, Palatalized, ARL, Patriot, cheetah, Dallas Mavis ect ect ect have their own interest and care little for their agents or drivers. I know at our agency we check and cross check all of our billings to make sure the drivers don't get overcharged on trailers and under payed on loads. It is not uncommon to have corporate charge a driver for undeserved maintenance on a trailers. You must make sure you have the proper paperwork with tire DOT tire numbers before you submit the request otherwise it is too easy for them to reject it and then you have to fight it which can take weeks. Let us not forget Trucking is really a ###### business so stop taking cheap freight and watch the rates rise. Of course that easy to say if your not behind on your bills with a wife and a couple kids. God Bless.

Greatwide has NONE of their own freight. All of their agents are also agents for 5 or 6 other companies.

I dont know who told you that. I have my own customers and only use "boards" if I have too. Im not a double+ agent either. No trucking company is perfect but I dont think it is fair paint us like some sort of crap flavored lolly pop. Im not advertizing and im not hiring.

Rogerd here. I have been working with Greatwide now for right at one year. The freigtht board is weak, but that's just freight sometimes. The biggest problems you will have with this company is communicating with the misc. departments, safety being the worst. Darlene will put you on indefinate hold if the conversation isn't to her liking, Sherry is just incompetent, and Todd backs them all up. Here's an example. I was called in for a random by Sherry, she told me to go to a Concentra in Waco Texas because that is where I was delivering a load, but informed me that I had to be there within three hours of the receiving the message. I asked her to have all the info there at the office, and she said she would. When I got there no info had been sent and I waited an hour and fifteen minutes while they got the faxes sent to Concentra. By the way, the folks at Concentra in Waco, Texas are great. So by the time it was all taken care of we were well over the four hour mark, and my final message to Sherry was ful of unpleasant language, mostly because I never got through and only got her voicemail and not one other living soul could help me in all of Greatwide get it done. So there is one problem. The other major problem that I have had is finding loads, calling on them, actually talking to an agent and finding the load still available, which usually is not, you may call 30 numbers and get one load that may work, no kidding, you will spend a lot of time on the phone looking for loads, or looking on line at the load board that you must constantly re-enter the info and refresh. That load board seems to be so out dated to me. The biggest problem I have is the company seems to be so large that the departments don't really know what the other department does, or even know where they are, or really even care, seriously. For instance, you mst send your MVMR by fax to Butch, not scan or even send it in your weekly envelope, that kind of stuff. One other problem is they are on the seventy hour week log book, though I'm not sure if they enforce that, it's not a requirement Dot wise until July of this year I think. The sort of apathetic behavior of the employees of Greatwide make it difficult to earn a decent living and overshadow some of the really good points like, good log department, prompt honest pay and a pretty decent OS division. It's a really tough business to be in and you have all these things to do to get loaded, and an office staff, not all, but enough, that pretty much seems to be mostly interested in covering their own butts in the event of a dispute, your chances of success are reduced significantly. My name is Rogerd. I am a flatbedder.

The same thing is happening to my husband and me with Greatwide. We work out of the Michigan office too. This place is a joke. They wouldn't know how to run a team if their lives depended on it. I own three trucks, I have two of them leased on here and we are going broke. It's pretty sad when the other truck I have leased on elsewhere brings in more revenue than two trucks put together with Greatwide. I too feel like i'm being ripped off. I have asked to see the original paperwork for loads and have yet to receive anything. Let's also not forget about the 150.00 a week for trailer rental. We pay load insurance too. I have been trying for two weeks to be paid back for 120.00 in reefer fuel. I guess I'll never recoup that. As I am writing this I am on my third week of being away from home. They absolutely refuse to send you any where near your home. I live 70 miles south of Chicago, it's amazing that no freight ever goes there???? They want you to go from San Fransico to New York City and will not pay for any of those high dollar tolls. They give teams a week to get across the country, then you get to spends days getting unloaded. After that they gladly give you a cheap broker load that doesn't even cover your diesel. My husband and I have been here a month and this is our last load with this company. If you are an O/O and want to go broke, this is the place to be.

I was looking at their load board and it looks depressing, I thought it was going to be more like schneider or jb hunt where they give you the pay and fuel surcharge I guess they are really behind the power curve.

How did you make it a year? I was just given a load that
I will make 18.00 on, I drove 750 miles just so I could go home. I will have to stop some where and buy fuel just to make it. That's another thing I hate about this company....They only allow you a certain amount on the fuel card. Nine out of ten times its not even enough to get you there. Thank goodness I have money in tbe bank.
