Wow, your the only one on your board? If your #1 extra in my barn you can make 58-68k. Unless it gets terrible. I'd figure SoCal being the big dog in the industry. Our top xboard guy gets 3 round trip runs per week I've dropped down to 2 round trip runs a week where I'm at on the board. I use to run for a O/O I had a heck of time finding TL general freight where I'm at. I guess alot of people use LTL in my area.

Geez I wish that was me. Just keeping me hanging around for some reason. Yellow did me the same way in 2007. Made me quit instead of laying me off.

Scratch that. I just got the call and I'm laid off. 2 bids were cancelled so there are 2 guys on the extra board now and I'm not one of them. Hope they are able to keep their jobs.

    Radman,
I screwed up actually. There is another guy on the extra board and he is number 1. I always forget to count him because he is always called in and pretty much always runs when ever he wants. We other drivers count him as having job security and don't consider him extra board. He does make crazy money too. He has a lot of seniority, has been there for over 20 years or something. He just prefers to run the extra board. So now we still have 3 guys on the extra board. So I was still number 2 before I got laid off today. I'm kinda bummed out. Guess I'm gonna take that job at FedEx for a while. Hope they keep you guys busy.

Well that sucks they laid you off but atleast it wasn't a surprise. I'd do that FedEx thing til they call you back when they pick back up cause you should not be far from getting a bid next time around by keeping your time in.

    cool35 Thanks this.

I was thinking it was going to pick back up for a while there. I will definitely go back when I' called. I have been with them since May, so I have some time in with them.

Good to hear. Yeah I started here in May too. I'm sure when it picks back up it's gonna be busier. As the truck driver shortage gets worse and worse TL carriers and shippers are gonna be forced to use us to get their product moved on time. They are saying each Otr company need to hire 10-100 drivers right now. Getting an Otr job is easy now.

What up guys, Oct was slow due to the election. Nov started slow then I got busy. Been pulling very heavy loads lately. Talked to a driver from one of our big barns they called back everyone that got laid off. Cool35 you might get a call soon.
