it wouldn't let me PM you said I have to few posts yet so I have to hit you up on here sorry but ,I have my class A permit I drove with my class B back in 2008-2009 for a local building supply company here in SC. But in Sept 2009 I went on active duty orders for the military and ended up losing my class B by not renewing it so I have some experience but having to go through the training all over again. I look forward to meeting you I will look for you my name is chris by the way I should be in between 1-3 on Monday afternoon i'm taking that long ride on the greyhound.

The Simulator is pretty easy so I would not worry about it. Generally there is an instructor or 2 hanging around to help out also. You will have 4 sims to do 1 is for shifting, 1 is for road signs, 1 is for manuvering, and 1 us for backing. They are not hard, I think the hardest thing for people is the double clutching and it seemed to me the only folks who had problems shifting are those eer used a clutch before.

OH boy!!! Backing up on a sim!!!! Now I can double clutch! I still need some work but im alot better then I was. Thats what I worked on at the DDA doing the refreshers!

How REAL is the sim? or is it more of a video game look?

Really it doesn't matter. The benefit is that you've been exposed to the procedure so that when you're in a truck you can transfer the experience to the real world. I designed and worked on flight sims in the past, and while we were required to have a certain level of realism, the benefit is just that - the experience. One of the instructor pilots told me that the folks who went through sim training were 100% better at the actual flight evolutions than those who didn't have it.

Hey Medic I am sure you have done sims in the military. Either EST or like I did a sim for an MRAP. I don't think it should be that bad. Guess I will find out when I get there.

    medic6521 and silenteagle Thank this.

My dad still designs and implements the software for flight sims. All over the world. I think the FAA knows him by name.

Nothing like chasing SU-27's all day in an F-15C "testing" sim software. That'd be the real stuff... not Microcrap Flight Stimulator.
