162.400, 162.425, 162.450, 162.475, 162.500, 162.525, and 162.550 are the seven standard U.S. NOAA VHF weather channels. Are you actually in Mt. Airy, NC? I can hear VHF transmitters on all 7 channels from my house with my handy-turkey's rubber duckey, but the one that covers here is located in Mooresville. There's a transmitter on Sauratown Mtn, 22 miles NNW of Winston-Salem that covers NW NC and southern VA. The recorded announcements on each channel loop every 4 or 5 minutes with new information as stuff changes. The looped info includes the callsign, location, and area served by each transmitter. The idea is that every place in the 50 states and near-offshore is covered by at least one station. There are also HF weather stations for ships on the high seas and aircraft on long flights.
What are you trying to hear, or in which frequency range, or with what specific radio equipment? I realized I was starting to write one of my typical treatises without even being sure of the question ;)

I was just thinking I really don't know about all the bands and channels on my Galaxy 10 meter and thought maybe I have it and don't even know it or where to find it.

The only CB radios I know of with the weather bands on them, are the Uniden PC 68 LTW, PC 78 LTW, Cobra 25 WX and 29 WX, Cobra 75, Cobra 18 WX and the Cobra 23. There's probably a few others but those are the ones I can think of right now.

Also some scanners pick up/broadcast weather frequencies. I know the Uniden BC350C does.

The new Uniden 880 and 980 SSB also have the weather bands in them.. also has the weather alert that automatic tunes you to the weather band from CB mode when a bad weather warning is issued... seem to be something that is standard on all the newer models.
