I'm home, got here last night about 6:30. Left the house at 5am this morning and got my last 2 drops off and was back home at 9am. I am leaving back out tonight to do a drop and hook up in Greenville tomorrow morning going back to Mountain Top. Because I am never in Pittston during business hours and my truck has about 5 pages of write-ups and needs a service, I will be up there Monday and Tuesday to get all the work done. Since I got this run back in July, this will be just the second weekend I'm not home.

I just want to say one thing regarding certain post's on page 377. This job is what makes ME happy. there's a lot of reasons why this works for ME. All I am concerned about at this stage of my life is enjoying my job, which allows me to enjoy my wife, home, dogs and assorted kids. I'm glad others have a better job. I'm quite sure they've earned it, just like I have. Maybe I don't make as much as some others do, but for an OTR job this is a pretty good gig. I would have made close to 60K this year but I'm taking almost a moth off in December and going on a 2 week cruise with my wife. We had all our vacation plans in place and paid for to spend 3 weeks in Italy on the Amalfi Coast in September, but something came up, a multi million dollar sale that my wife had that closed right in the middle of our planned vacation. She decided to stay home and baby sit that sale until it closed. I work very hard while I'm out on the road for one thing, and that's so I'm able to enjoy my life. If that's wrong then so be it. I can live with it.
jrotra, JackMac, Voyager1968 and 9 others Thank this. -
Times like this is when I don't like my job much. Getting ready to leave the house. The upside is I'll get my truck taken care of next week, and run around local in a loaner truck until Wednesday morning when I load my run.
We got a message on the computer this morning that the company is handing out turkeys next Friday to all employees for Thanksgiving. I just hope mine is ready to be cooked and not live. The Challenger and Cyanide Thank this. -

John,I want to thank you for this thread and reminding me why I decided to give Calex a try. And re minding what is important to myself and my family. Money is very important reason for doing this profession we all have chosen ,but for ME it is not the Most important one. Thank you John.

I've made a few online friends while I was employed at Calex, and I hope that we can remain friends as time goes on. I run local tanker right now, and I've started to dabble in making trucking videos. Here is one of them that I shot with my new Midland XTC action cam which is similar to a GoPro, but less expensive. Anyway, I figured I'd give you glimpse into what I'm doing and where I run on occasion.
