Observation and simple question here: I was out this evening after dark and passed a little place down the road that has some U-Haul trailers parked in their lot. The U-Hauls had reflective tape outlining the rear of the trailers and it easily reflected my headlights, even though I was not directly behind them.
Is this something trucking companies could consider? Do trailers have simple reflectors on the back? Either one would make the trailer visible to traffic following the vehicle even if the lights failed. Or would road dirt offset any advantage of having the reflectors...
No trailer lights

Most trl's do have this reflecting tape.... Dirt will hinder the reflection... I pretty much always take a wet paper towel from the fuel island as I am fueling and drag along the reflecting tape all down the side and rear, as well cleaning lights.... Now I have been given many strange looks from other drivers by doing this but I don't care it makes me feel better... -
Most drivers don't even walk around the truck while fueling it. They are probably wondering why you are. I get the same looks, because I check out the truck. -
All trailer are supposed to have this reflective tape. Half on each side is supposed to be covered. And you are supposed to have a line of the tape all of the way across the back.
