Just finished building my wife a "scrap-booking room". She wants to keep busy while I'm on the road.

That being said, I just finished loading the truck up for a few weeks on the road. Need to get my savings account back up to snuff after the wedding and 3 weeks off, plus the dough I paid for the custom cabinets and countertops in the new room. Figure I can go play snowbird for a few weeks then head back around Turkey-day with enough cash to suffice for the winter months and just do local stuff while the snow flies.

Just got on the dirty dog headed to Pgt. Fun ride ahead of me.

SHC I feel yeah on the room. Just got done this morning converting half my man cave room into a work out room for the gf. So she can have a busy stuff to do while Im gone. Figure a week at orientation, 2 weeks with a trainer , then work a week at least when I get a truck it will be about a month before I see the house. But, Im extremely excited to get to open deck work and headed in the direction I wanna go.

This week, I'm driving an old 98 pete 379 exhd w/ a 48" flattop short little stacks, unpolished wheels and tanks, just 1/4 fenders, dirty old american class interior, old single turbo 475hp cat and i'm telling the boss tommorow that I want to keep that truck instead of my black pete...

my black truck is 550+hp, 48" stand up, polished tanks w/ durabrites, super clean interior, tall stacks, short hood 379, longer WB

I love that older blue truck, it's more comfortable with more leg room, and I think it will clean up really nice...both are about the same miles...

I spent 3 hours cleaning the interior out really good last night, steamed the carpets (still stained but atleast they are clean) and cleaned it out really good inside.
I think with some polish, a few lights hung off the mirrors and bumper corners, some tall exhaust tips, drop visor and a little elbow grease it will look really sharp and be a nice older truck.

I coulda swore you were driving an freightshaker Logan? or I might have u and NWMaxi confused...still home after the storm hand spent the last 2 days draining Oil changing filters out of all 3 trucks in our lil fleet so far the boss's truck and the other drivers truck are A-OK somehow. My truck which is the newest in the fleet (08 379) has the most problems both fuse boxes need to replaces but she starts and the whole interior needs to come out and be replaced. I'm tired and I smell like a combination of Diesel and Raw Sewage life is great... :biggrin_25510: Oh and another joy to add to this crap sandwich I've been eating lately is that everyone is out of OIL of all grades thinking I might have to drive to Easton PA as we still need 10 more gallons of OIL for the rears and another 10 for Transmission OIL. This was one hurricane that I've experienced in my lifetime and hell I'd care NOT to experience this again. My hat goes off to people who live in the gulf coast and the state of Florida who deal with this 2 or 3 times every 10 years. This Sucks...Well enough of my rambling Im off to go and try to bring my truck back to life again...Good day!!

Sorry Mark but I drive a pete, pretty much all I've ever driven has been pete's or KW's.

That's terrible about your truck, if you don't mind me asking is the insurance company taking care of you at all?

I would tear everything out of that truck, and start with some bleach and ammonia water and clean that sucker up.

I priced carpet for a pete not too long ago at around 340$, so that isnt too bad, tear out your dash and clean it up, need a new mattress, new seats...the rest is mostly plastic so you can just take it apart and clean it...

Good luck man, sounds like a hell of alot of work to me!

    MackDaddyMark Thanks this.
