Don't let the negatives deter you. There are still a lot of good things about SNI....many things the company does well. But, like every company, there are things it falls short on. The WM dedicated account is kind of it's own animal. Though I left, I still have a lot of favorable things to say.

Like so many companies, when the original founding families either die or retire, there is a more "progressive" business model being implemented, and it's not always driver-friendly. Everything is computer-driven....common sense is almost gone, but it's not just this industry or any one company...it's everywhere.

I drove that account for a little better than a year before I quit as I just couldn't get used to the nights. If you don't mind driving nights and not knowing what you are doing day to day or even how long you are going to work or make then there are much worse things that a Wal Mart dedicated account. SNI's benefits are among the best in the industry and with the size of the company and the many divisions if it dosn't work out for you you can always transfer to something else. I don't really have that many bad things to say about them other than the trucks were junk but you don't spend that many nights out in them so if you don't mind that then it's an ok job.

 

I have a phone interview not sure if i got the job i don't do night driving tried it and never again when my body -n- brain say sleep i sleep.
So i'm sure if i'll get the job.

 

Green Bay had very little hands in the home depot account I was on.
It still didnt help in day to day running.You could expect the unexpected
but I do miss some of the people I worked with.
I REALLY miss the new truck,as opposed to the p.o.s. 06 volvo i got now.
If my pay would have been regular i would still be there

 

Just being honest. Schneider really don't care. It's hard getting a new truck but they give me to newbies sometimes

 

Well driver I need not stretch what did happen to make it sound bad about my time at Schneider.
I'm not a complainer, and my experience is all about revenue dollars.
Some of the situations my DBL wasn't happy about when she returned to work, we made the best of the situation, and moved on.
I pretty much got my home time, when I requested to be off.
There are too many layers in the Schnieder operation, that step on each other for which you as a driver loose too much time, end up with short miles when you got hours to run.
Call it what you want, Green Bay is the problem, that's my opinion.
You deliver to a receiver, as your getting unloaded, another Schneider truck pulls in to pickup a load..?
Why wouldn't you pick that load up seeing your already there making a delivery..?
There not good at utilizing drivers, or how about when you make a delivery in a "metro area, then end up making local deliveries w[SIZE=4]ith no [SIZE=4]mileage, because local drivers had too big of a weekend to report for work[SIZE=4]. lol
There were times my DBL said " I'm getting you out of there" cause it wasn't good for either of us for what they had me doin[SIZE=4]g.
No I don't have a dislike for Schneider, their operation didn't work for me..!
Li[SIZE=4]mited revenue, when [SIZE=4]I[/SIZE]'m their to make revenue.
They sent me a letter asking me to come back to my termina[SIZE=4]l stat[SIZE=4]ing the got the bugs workout with the "work flow" system.
They lost quite a few drivers when that system was started, owner operators too, no one was making any revenue let alone make their truck paymen[SIZE=4]ts.
Schnei[SIZE=4]der is good to get experience, you shouldn't plan to stay, there's better driving jobs out there.[/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE][/SIZE]

 

They sure are wasting lots of fuel sending multiple trucks to the same load.

 

Well driver you go for it then, dedicated is different, but I can tell you my experience at Bedford P.A. without sounding like a complaint. lol
Several road drivers were sent to that Walmart center to help them out, on the weekends, which carried over till the middle of the week.
This was a Green Bay call, my DBL had no say in the matter, which I could hear in her conversation with me.
I was sent there 3 different times, left my empty in Seville Ohio, then bobtail to Bedford P.A.
With the new tractors in the system now, I hope the dedicated accounts were included...?
Some of the tractors I saw there were in rough shape, and their seems to be a problem keeping drivers on that account for one reason or another.
You got some serious hills out there, and with a Schneider tractor, you'll be working those gears to get over those slopes for sure.
I had a rebuilt Columbia, and I would let it roll on the down slopes to get a running start for the next hill. (cost me the bonus)
Multiple stops for Walmart stores, Sam's Club, with some full load single stores I did for Maryland, Virginia, West Virgina, and P.A.
Drivers share the information on the deliveries with maps and directions, so you don't get messed up from the qual com.
Not all walmarts have electric trucks or a fork lift to pull the pallets off like the Sam's Club.
Then sometimes the loader got cheap on the shrink wrap a pallet fell apart.
I was a "fill in" made the deliveries, they requested me to return which I did.
Had to make my own time f[SIZE=4]or meals and shower[SIZE=4]s[SIZE=4].
That was not factored in for my runs.
My next dispatch was sent before I returned to the terminal, with a "unheard of delivery time", before I got in. lol

It's driving at nite and I can't drive nite no biggy

 

The WalMart account is slightly different. Here in Henderson, NC the loads were all dispatched out of Green Bay but the terminal dispatchers had free reign to move the loads around as the situation warranted so it was a hybrid.
Also, you will run a lot of 2 lane in nasty weather so you should know how to drive in the winter and be comfortable with it. I myself would never drive this account out of Bedford but its not a bad job.
Make sure you talk to Tom about it before you sign on. YOU WILL DRIVE NIGHTS
