Useful hand tools and supplies

When I get back to work next week (on vacation now), I'll dig throw my stuff and see if there is anything else. I've been known to have odd ball stuff in my tool box and side box. You just never know.

 

50' air hose with a tire chuck on one end, and a glad hand on the other... ah, don't forget the tire gage. Heavy gage jumper cables.

The best thing I found to have in the truck is a little fat girl ! I always have heat in the winter and shade in the summer

 

The only difference between a red glad hand and a blue one is the color...and if you break one of those, it really doesn't matter what color you put on there since they all work the same. Don't want to mix up colors? Carry the plain silver ones...and use the red or blue seals in 'em to differentiate between 'em when you install one if you can't keep 'em straight.

DO NOT buy the ones at the truck stop! Those PVC air lines do not like cold weather at all...if you can get the stupid thing uncoiled to reach a trailer tire, good luck getting it rolled back up again. Instead, build your own. Buy a rubber hose, a glad hand, and a tire chuck that locks onto the valve stem...that way you can continue with your pretrip while the tire inflates rather than having to sit there holding the stupid air line on the tire valve.

 

Just gotta be more physically dexterious than cold PVC. Helps to have two thumbs and all eight fingers!

 

Thats a pretty thorough list. I dont know why you didnt add the mechanics shop and maybe even the mechanic himself as well. Maybe a portable fireplace to keep warm just in case you break down and its snowing.
