Talk it up with the folks at your company about the possibility of putting on a couple of Texas trucks.

There's a lot of good auctions down here that could be a gold mine of revenue.

Add that to the fact that Texas is a "No rust" state and the possibilities could be endless.

Medicineman looks like he wants in on this from his post...I wouldn't mind a shot at it myself.

I do miss carhaul...I just don't want to work for a big company or the union types.

    Let us know.

At this point I'm ready for anything that gets me out of the landfill I'm stuck in and gets a few bucks in my pocket. I have always wanted to get into cars though too.

Like I told Medicine I'll keep it in mind, but at this point the next two trucks that get added are friends of the owners. Had they said some thing to them before I did about leasing on, guess where I would be on the waiting list.

If you have a few contacts this maybe some thing you can get into yourself. Currently we don't have the TX contacts and the owners are really leary of getting out too far. 6 yrs ago when I worked for them they tried that, and ran all over the place. They didn't make any money at it then and since then have concentrated on a smaller area and found they could make that work pretty well.

I know I'm just messin around.

We got so slow after thanksgiving. I went from 50-60 hours to not even getting 40. I think I had 30 one week and 38 last week. Now that hurts when you rely on over time to make the bills

I never said it was $200K profit, but I did say $200K after their 20% cut.

It looks possible, the last two settlements were $4100 and $4500. Insurance is $250 and equipment payment is $642... a week. I know that is a steep payment schedule, but if it works I'll pay off $100,000 of equipment in 3 yrs. If things work right, Christmas 2010 will be a good yr. :biggrin_255:
Last week the deductions were $1500 on top of that $4100, cleaning up some past deductions that they postponed in helping me get started.

We just got slammed. If this is the slow season (holidays) I think I need to hold onto my ### for the busy times.
One of our customers thats been planning on moving large numbers of cars to NM had been messing around and not shipping..... until last week. We got 75 cars to move ASAP. They wanted them done by Christmas, but we assured them that wasn't going to happen, that they should have been shipping a few loads a week before now. I'm loaded now and will leave around 4am the day after christmas. Home for new yrs and back on it again.

The company just went thru an audit in the last 2 months. The lease agreement held even their scrutiny.

    Merry Christmas Brickman and all,

I'm glad to see you had the paperwork in sufficient order. A description of the paperwork was a bit sketchy in your original posts and being so I just wanted to throw in that possibility.

If you are happy then I'm happy for you.

Best of the new year to you and yours & continued profits.
