I know of no long term teams at Stevens. (Long term being more than 5 years). There may be, but I don't know of them.
Again, Stevens is a great place to get your start, learn the ropes and become an accomplished driver.
But they are geared towards new drivers and as such have many rules and procedures in place that are needed for newer drivers but become a burden for older drivers. As such, the dispath system can be a drag for a good team.
Teams need to run 5,000 plus miles per week and Stevens just isn't set up to handle that.
If we were to make a dedicated DM who worked with teams only, it might work much better, but as of now we don't have that.
Read the posts here from team drivers and ask specific questions.
I have run team (my first 4 years of driving was team line haul), but not with Stevens. I can see a real difference.

    Strykor Thanks this.

do you have to show proof of residence to dmv (utility, cable bill etc)
seems funny just to say i am staying with a brother or friend and use that
do you know how stevens makes this work , or what you have to do

Having recently been thru the process (just moved to Texas), they require proof of residency such as rent receipts, utility bills for the address you are living in, in your name. If you own an automobile, you will be required to register it in the state FIRST. This is done at a tax agency, not the DPS. To do this, you must show proof of Texas insurance. If your insurance is from another state, you must bring the policy showing your name, the auto and it must meet or exceed Texas minimum requirements (which are higher than most states).
Then after registering the auto, you bring that registration, proof of residency, proof of yourself (i.e. passport, or other state DL, plus original SS card, military ID or similar ID), and then you'll be allowed to change your license over to Texas.
Now if you have a CDL, it will require additonal testing for your Hazmat plus your background check (about $100), but otherwise it transfers simply. CDLs are $50, Class C is $25 (I think).

we would be only going to dallas for training ,and than to work
does this mean we need to get our cdl in WA before we do orientation ?
will stevens still help with the financing at a approved school?

The cdl cost if you pay for it your self first ?what does stevens repay weekly ?

is there a recruiter we should talk to to get this figured out
some one that can email everything need to bring etc
how do we get a prehire ? without a license ?

we need to plan this ,quit our jobs etc , put everything in storage all the fun stuff

    thanks

Is a nurse authorized to make this kind of call? Permanently barring someone from an industry? Seems she sets herself up for liable to me. What was your injury, and what was her reasoning?

Permanently barred from Stevens. Simply look elsewhere and don't tell them about the accident or Stevens.
