    not looking forward to chainin up all winter so hoping to get lucky and avoid the snow as much as i can... looking forward to switching to flatbed . the tarping doenst bug me because to me its all in a days work. gonna have to get used to all 48 but think i can handle it

    I got my Enhanced drivers license two weeks ago..also for crossing into Canada. I think thats only for Washington residents only ,but not sure . i saw a System Transport truck on I-5 this morning..a nice looking T660:biggrin_255:

    first day of orientation is in the books and it was a great day. did the road test and it went pretty easily. then the drug test and then the physical later in teh day. all in all impressed with everyone and the equipment that ive seen. not one bad looking truck in the yard

    i went out with one other guy and we hooked up to a trailer and he went about a mile down the freeway got off the exit pulled into a dirt lot then i took over got back on teh freeway and went back to the terminal. took all of maybe 20 mintues total for everything

    thanks for the quick reply Rugerfan, I'll be Going back OTR in february and im trying to decide Between System or Melton..so I'll keep reading your posts. i think System might be better hometime for me in my area but im not too worried about being out 4 or 5 weeks,it was ok for me in the past.

    yeah i couldnt tell ya anything about melton and only been here for a day so dont know yet but the good thing about system is that being from nor cal if i dont care for flatbedding or OTR they have cali regional reefers and flats so they have tons of opportunity

    The regional in my area would be WA-OR-ID-MT-BC-AB which means alot of mountain passes to deal with not to bad in the spring and summer months but the miles per week might suk for the week in winter:biggrin_25513:
    I wonder if i could switch to 48 states in winter? i might give recruting a call to ask.
