Some folks just aren't meant for trucking of any kind. Its that first year that shakes them out.

I agree....BUT...don't you think if he had belly wrapped each layer (6 straps) and front middle and rear each layer (9 straps) this would not have happned? A little extra time and effort goes a long way.

A learning experience for that driver. Fortunately it appears no one was hurt, or property damaged.

Yes but if the driver is new and not trained on a certain securement procedure then this would happen, but agree on what you said in securing the pipe.

I myself say no to hauling it myself.

I've had no official securement training, it's really all just common sense (which doesn't seem so common anymore) and help from other drivers. I've not had any issues except for a piece of lumber walking on me here or there and I learned how to keep it from happening.

Like said before, trucking isn't meant for everyone. And flatbed hauling is not for rookie drivers at all in my opinion.

Yeah, ive loaded pvc pipe and they are very safety oriented. Watch a vid about pipe flexing, and contracting expanding due to weather issues. Retighten after 1st hr and then checking every 2 hrs especially if it rains or temps drop from loaded temp.

Probably contracted to the point where straps got loose on their own
