I loaded an address in once and the QC was so painfully slow that I gave up.

I don't know who supplies the data, but people involved in the program on the inside have told me it's a pain that they are working hard on fixing. It's not the maps, it's the logic used to route drivers. That's the real difference between Rand McNally, Garmin, etc.
It's also why other companies have given up on developing their own and signed contracts with one of the big three.
    But not us...yet.

They instruct the attn teams to use it. I have a copy of copilot live truck on my laptop that I use for trip planning so I have a third party. Oh and my atlas.

Yeah, just see how easy it is to get the assistance!! Hubby and I both contribute on every paycheck. Last yeat my sister was put on Hospice Care, we managed to get loads swappped around to get home, but our Time Off acct was practically empty. We talked to Bonnie about getting an advance out of our Maintenance Acount since it was over $5000, which she refused. Never once did anyone check about the Driver's Assistance Fund. Bonnie arranged a 'loan' which we payed back.

Why is it that the 'desk jockies' think they know better than the driver about how long it is going to take to get to a receiver??? This is the 2nd load that we have had recently that we gave the CSR our projected ETA and they decided to set the appointment for 2 hours earlier??

We calculate our ETA per Stevens 'formula' of 50mph, then add a couple of hours for meals, showers, etc. They keep telling us, "You're a full team, the truck doesn't have to stop except for fuel and to swap drivers." My question is, Do they eat all their meals sitting at their desk or while driving?? And do they shower only on their day off??

You're giving the CSRs far too much credit. They request a delivery time but the receiver (the buyer) will dictate when they want it and when you can deliver. These buyers are the ones that calculate 24 hours per day running for teams. Many companies out there are selling freight based on teams, even tho they don't have full teams either. And no one wants to tell the buyers that a team is scheduled to run no more than 22 hours per day.
You see, there is lot's of competition. The next company will say, "oh sure! give us the freight. We'll move it!", but they have the same problem.
So it bounces back and forth between freight companies.
And hold onto your hat's folks. Now that we don't have a chance of Ray LaHood going the way of the a former administration, more regulations and controls are coming...few of which I would expect to help the freight companies or the drivers.

    Hey Emul
What about verizon's navigator? Kids just talked me into a smart phone and it has maps and nav. Is either any good or just stick to Garmin?
