Certainly not long enough to ridicule. I can't recall ever seeing a Lone Star hauling a load of PVC. As others have stated it's very squirrelly. I didn't care for it but as a company driver I went with the flow.

Have a bit of empathy. I know you would hate to be on the receiving end of your observations.

 

Crap happens pulling a skateboard, i put a huge tear in a steel tarp the other day hauling a single coil...i even had carpet under the tarp but it didnt matter, i had to retarp it at the service plaza with a big tarp...

 

That pvc pipe can be a pain. 4" or larger not as bad. I refuse to haul the 1/2", 3/4", 1" stuff NoNo.

And that double stacked roll roofing is a definete No. No.

 

You have a load of pvc pipe, 40 ft long, 3 tiers, 7.5 ft tall. How many straps are you required according to the regs?

 

If we're going strictly by the regs then what's the total weight of the load, and the working load limit of the load (working load limit, or WLL = weight of the load/2), and what are the WLL's of your straps (should be listed on the strap if you can still read it, or go by the WLL limits listed in your FMCSR)? Bear in mind that when going strictly by the book, the total combined WLLs of all the load securement you place on a load must meet or exceed the WLL of the load.

 

That's the one that they made me watch a safety video at the plant. Sumbytch sure did contract and had the bottom dunnage shift about 3 inches from where it was originally. It was toward the rear of the trailer just like the original picture.

I only had 1 stack though. It skurred me pretty good, I threw all 14 straps on it. Never had a load do that to me before.



PS. on the last picture, your landing gear is way too low. Just an observation.

 

out here in cali they all run with the landing gear half way down, the fuel islands are all tore up from it

 

That's because they don't want to ruin their Coach leather gloves and Jose was too busy to do it for them

 

Your pictures don't show PVC pipe, which is what he was saying. That's all steel and coated pipes. PVC is a whole different animal. But I still think that Prime driver did something wrong
