thing about prime is your making .39 cpm so even with an average of 2500 miles you can make a living... swift on the other hands pays something like .26 cpm... thats sad
its 975 dollars vs 650 dollars at swift

HAHA there is no reason for me to lie to someone....i had a great relationship with my NEW fm and guys only once did i see a week over 3000miles...anything else was 2600-2800....worst week...2000miles. Trust me, i did more sitting to be unloaded sometimes than i did actually driving. they only start paying detention 2 hrs after the ending window on the load sooooo.... your window 0000-0800 you get there at 0000, you're unloaded at 1000.... you dont get paid for that time you had to wait...you have to become an very good planner to avoid problems like this or avoid violation.

I never run illegal and I DO average 2700 to 3100 miles per week with little difficulty. It is called time management and a good relationship with your FM
-
Once you learn how to use the HOS rules to your advantage, you don't even have to think about running illegally. Hope you enjoy Knight... give it a year and tell us how you like it.
You only gave it about a year? That's just about where you start getting a good enough driver rating to pick up more miles - and it does depend on how much your FM trusts you. Detention is about the same everywhere... there are some outfits that pay you hourly while on site, but that is a rarity in this business. Learning how to manage those appointment windows is also part of developing your career. -
I decided to quit griping and work out a solution. Have gave me a great load, so I'm happy again for now. I wasn't asking for 3000 miles a week. 2500+ is what I was wanting. Ive been averaging less than that. I also found out part of.the reason is the fleet I'm in, and we are.going to work with that too. I like it here at Prime, just gotta get the newness of me to the company wore off.

Just an FYI... I was going over my October numbers. I was training a new student. I drove 21121 dispatched miles during the month. Real miles were 21620 miles. (not much difference between HHG miles and real miles IMHO)

You're in the NE fleet. There is a reason for that extra .05/mile pay for being NE fleet. You can't realistically expect OTR miles when you are in a regional fleet. Hence the extra pay.
its not like its an elite fleet or extra work that requires extra Pay. The only criteria is that you live and be dispatched in the NE. -
I didn't want to be in the ne fleet. I was hired as otr. Or so I was told.

I didn't want to be in the ne fleet. I was hired as otr. Or so I was told. Yes I live in Maine/ the northeast. I hate it there, that's why I wanted OTR. As for the 5 cents differential, I would rather make more miles for the five cents less and not deall.with the northeast headaches. I think this may be my last post on this topic
Thank you everyone for your advice.
