I've been reading and searching and what not and I'm curious if any of you have the same motor I've got that has done any modifications to it and what has come of it? I haven't found much info as far as this in the forums. I've got the 455 that was built to a 550 with the exception of the injectors, cam and turbo. It was flashed to a 550 at CAT and had injector codes also put in. Has anyone else gone a different route or done the same as me?

when you say injector codes were put in,like same code for all six? i dont like that because it unbalances the injectors making some cylinders run hotter than others.
-
Yes, I'm almost certain they are all the same. It's been this way for about 4 years now, Cat man works at a new shop now and they haven't got a computer just yet so I couldn't tell you what codes they are. 5232 is what I think they are but I could be wrong, it's been about 4 years since it's been flashed and coded

thats one of the codes that is used(5232) it just is a easy way of dumping more fuel in the cylinders but like i said makes an unbalanced set up. for regular freight you probably will be ok with them. i'd talk to Mr. Haney about your setup he's alot more knowledgable on the cats than i am.

Ya, I spoke with him in the past about it but I didn't get too far in depth with him. Just wanting to get away from the trim codes and get a good tune. Planning to swap the turbo and manifold out soon and figured I'd do it all at once. About due for an overhead as well, so hoping to also swap my injectors out. Don't need to go melting anything down though lol

how old are the injectors? i would do a pdi manifold and haney turbo with a haney ecm tune. you will be satisfied. if the injectors arent to old dont mess with them just get the trim codes off the side of them and load back in the ecm.

I've got a 5EK, supposedly set at 455 is what the sticker on the valve cover says. It sure don't pull like no 455 though it feels a little North of there! I'm thinking about getting it on a computer and seeing what she's set at and maybe turning her up a little more.

A customer has one in a kdub. I have run the 550 and the 600 pre low Knox in it. And it does fine. Occasionally at idle will puff but not all the time with the 600 file but never under load the truck runs well and has turbo and b model manifold and 5232 codes. Lol that was the hot set up three or four years ago.

What kind of power is he putting down with that setup?? I've been eying up the b manifold because it's $1200.00 less than a pdi/bully dog. And I'm also looking at a bigger turbo....maybe this would be the easier route for me!!!
