I Just Was Sent Home From Jb Hunt And Will Now Tell Everyone How They Really Are Since I Was Just There And Wasted My Time For 5 Days. And No I Am Not Saying Anything Out Of Anger. It Is What Really Went On At Orientation During My Stay There This Week.

Ok, If You Want To Go With A Purchase Agreement. This Is How It Works. They Send You To Kentucky. The Hotel Is Called Holiday Inn South.

The Hotel Is Very Nice. And I Will Say It Again, It Is Very Nice. They Have An Indoor Pool, Hottub, Game Room With Pool Table , Fuzzball, Air Hockey, Etc. Fitness Room, Etc. They Will Give You Vouchers For Breakfast And Dinner. Lunch Is Served At Orientation.

Ok Now For Orientation. It Is Ran By 4 Different People. Larry Is Like The Head Guy Running Things And He Is A Great Guy. If Anyone Doesn't Understand Anything, They Will Stop The Class And Explain It. They Are Never Mean Or Mad About It They Are Very Detailed To Make Sure You Understand What It Is That They Are Doing. I Will Give It To Them For That. The 4 That Run Most Of It Are Great People.

Ok Now For Day 1. After Roll Call, They Give You A Paper With Your Investigators Name And Phone Number. You Are To Call That Person Everyday Until You Are Cleared. After That, They Give You A Backing Test, It Was Very Simple, You Pull Out Of A Stop, Go Up To A Stop, Then Back It Back Into The Spot. And That Is It For That.

Then You Go Across The Parking Lot, Get In Line And Wait In The Cold For The Driving Test. The Driving Test Is Administerd By The 4 People Who Actually Run The Orientation. The Road Test Is Not Long At All. Its Just Doing A Bog Circle, No Inner City Crap Driving. They Are Particular About What They Are Looking For You To Do. My Advise, Keep Both Hands On The Wheel At The Same Time, Unless Shifting Of Course, They Do Watch To Make Sure You Shift Between 12 And 1400 Rpm's.

Ok Both Tests Are Over And Now It Is Time For The Physical. Ok If You Are Going For A Company Driver Position, Your Physical Is Just That, Its Physical. Lifting, Stacking Back And Forth Crap And Etc. Which Is Fine And Well. For The Lp Program, He Makes You Stretch A Few Times, Checks Your Blood Pressure, Checks For Sugar Count, Listen To Your Heart, You Are Done. Plan And Simple.
Then They Go Over Why You Are There And A Little Of What To Expect. Alot Of Videos And Etc For The Next Day And A Half.

Every Morning Until You Are Cleared You Have To Call Your Investigator. What That Person Is Doing Is Checking Refrences, Mvr, Dac Report, Etc Etc Etc. If You Have Recent Speeding Tickets Or High Fines, Don't Listen To Your Recruiter, You Are Going Home. If You Have Any Company Who Is Not Willing To Verify Your Experience With A Fax, You Are Going Home. If You Have Anyone Who Will Give You A Bad Refrence, You Are Going Home. If You Had A Warrant At Anytime, You Are Going Home. Everything Has To Be Letter Perfect Or You Are Going Home.

On Day 2 You Will Get Your Comdata Card Which Is Ok Cause If You Get Sent Home, They Will Put It In Your Card For Being There 75.00 A Day.

They Also Are Willing To Give You A 100 Advance On Training At Day 4 Cause You Have Made It To Day 4 And They Owe You 300 At That Point. Which Leaves You With 200 For Your First Check.

Also On Day For Is The Smith Test. Doesn't Matter If You Had It Done Before, You Are Going To Do It Again.

Ok Here Are Some Details About What They Offered To Us There.

They Offerd Us 85 Cents A Mile, 31 Cents Fuel Surcharge, Then Say Another 3 Cents For Safety Bonus. Which Brings Us To 1.19 A Mile. Then They Say If You Sign This One Agreement To Not Refuse Any Loads, They Will Pay You Another 3 Cents A Mile To Bring It To 1.22 A Mile. But If You Are A Lp Contractor, You Can Refuse Loads, But That Last Agreement Will Just Wipe That Out.

If You Have All Your Ducks In A Row, You Will Get Accepted, But If You Have Any Company Who Will Give You A Bad Refrence, Anything That Has A Warrant , Fines, Tickets They May Not Like, You Will Go Home And They Could Care Less.

If You Go To Jb Hunt For The Lp Program. Make Sure Your Past Employers Will Give You A Good Refrence, Make Sure Your Records Are Just About Spotless And Above All And This Is Why I Am Home Right Now, Make Sure If Your Company Has Been Closed, Please Make It In Stone That The Person Who Can Verify Your Exp Does Not Go On Vacation.

The Only Person To Verify My Exp Went On Vacation The Saturday Before Orientation. I Begged And Pleaded With Them To Call Her For 4 Days Before She Left. I Told Them If She Leaves You Wont Hear From Her Cause She Is Going To London. My Pleas Went To Deaf Ears And I Was Sent Home Cause They Couldn't Find Her On Vacation To Get My Exp Faxed To Them. But They Knew 4 Days Before She Left She Was Leaving And They Did Nothing.

So Needless To Say, I Was There Until Day 4 And Was Sent Home For That Reason.

As For Their Trucks, They Have What They Call A New Matinence Place That Will Cover You Bumper To Bumper And Will Cost You Between 10 And 13 Cents A Mile For That Plan.

They Also Will Take Out 100 To Go Into Your Account And Give It Back To You After 32 Weeks.

As For What They Have To Offer When I Was There To Buy The Trucks, The Ones They Had Were 2003 To 2005. They Had 2 Trucks That Were 2006.

The Particular Truck I Picked Out Was A '04 With 424,000 Miles And My Payment Would Have Been 298.00 A Week Plus The 84.00 For Insurance. Up To You If You Think That Is A Good Deal.

But Mind You , Day 3 When You Sign Their Lease Contacts And Their Contractor Agreements And You Are Not Clearded Yet Does Not Mean You Are Safe. At No Time Are You Safe Until They Say You Dont Have To Call Your Investigator Anymore.

Reasons Why People Went Home... Here Are A Few Reasons Why The People I Was With Were Sent Home.

1 Got A Bad Report From A Former Employer, He Left On Bad Terms

Another Was Sent Home For A Class A Misdermenor That He Either Thought They Werent Going To Find Or His Recruiter Told Him It Was Ok And It Wasn't.

Another Was Sent Home Because He Had A Open Warrant And Didn't Know It Was Open For A Parking Ticket.

Another Went Home Due To The Fact She Worked For A Company 3 Yrs Ago And They Didn't Fax A Verification To Jb Hunt. So She Went Home An Hour After I Did.

Another Was Sent Home Cause He Put Down He Was On Weight Restriction. For This One, He Thought The Physical Was Going To Be A Physical Physical Which They Don't Do For Lp Program Cause You Are Not And I Will Say It Again, Cause You Are Not On Their Workmans Comp.

I Have Talked To A Few Company Drivers While There As Well As A Few Lp Guys While I Was There. Some Worked There For 2 Months Up To Over 12 Yrs And The Response I Got Was 50-50.

The Complaints Were They Weren't Getting The Miles.

Nobody Complained About Paying The 10 Cents A Mile For The Bumper To Bumper, They All Seemed To Liked That And Jb Was Keeping Up With Their End Of It.

You Will Get A Ton Of Videos, You Will Get Things Explained To You. You Will Have Options About The 3 Cents A Mile Extra If You Dont Turn Down Loads, You Will Get Offerd The Bumper To Bumper Which I Personally Thought Was A Good Deal And I Would Have Jumped On It.

Another Thing I Didn't Like Is With The Truck You Pick Out, For My Case The '04. It Was In Service For 48 Months And At The 72 Month Level, The Bumper To Bumper Is Out And You Are Back To The Old One For The Remainder Of Your 3 Yrs.

In My Case, I Really Didn't Care About That. My Payment Was Ok With Me And That I Was Happy With.

Overall, Just Due Your Research. If You Want To Try Jb Hunt And Their Lp Program, Make Sure You Have A Just About Spotless Record On Everything, Make Sure Your Former Employers Will Fax Your Experience, And Ask Questions If You Dont Understand Something And Above All, Make Sure If Your Former Employer's Company Is Closed, Make Sure They Are Not On Vacation. And Do Not Ask Them To Call Them Before Hand, Like I Said I Begged And Pleaded With Them , They Sat On Their ##### For 4 Days And Did Nothing Until They Knew She Went On Vacation And Then They Started To Try And Call Her.

If Anyone From Jb Hunts Office Sees This And I Really Dont Care If They Do, They Can Not Deny What I Said Was For My Reason I Was Sent Home. I Have The Proof.

One Other Thing. My Former Employer Who Is In England Was Talking To My Investigator And Told That Investigator That She Will Be Home Tuesday And Will Take Care Of Things Then. They Didn't Want To Wait. I Was Also Told Just Now As I Write This , I Got An Email From Her Now, She Just Told Me She Was Sorry I Got Sent Home But She Did Tell My Investigator Last Night She Was Sending Her The Info She Needed Friday Night Which Is Tomorrow Night And Yet I Was Still Sent Home.

But Remember For My Experience, I Did Beg And Plead With Them For 4 Days The Week Prior To Call And Verify My Experience And They Were To Busy Sitting On Their ##### Then To Make A 3 Minute Call.

I Will Say This And If You Happen To Go And Get Sent Home, They Have To Send You Home The Way You Got There. Don't Let Them B.s. You Into A #### Greyhound Bus. They Flew Me There For 138.00 And Since They Screwed Up And Sent Me Home Knowing She Was Going To Fax That, It Cost Them Over 900 To Send Me Home.

I Left Orientation At 230 This Afternoon And My Flight Left At 430. So If You Get Sent Home, Make Sure It Is The Way They Brought You Down. There Is A Woman There In Kentucky That When You Are Sent Home, Go To The Very Front Office And Tell Her You Are Being Sent Home And You Want To Be Sent The Way You Were Sent There. I Did Just That And She Didn't Give Me Any Slack About It. By The Time I Got To The Hotel To Pack, She Already Had My Flight Into. That I Will Say About Her. She Was Great. The Instructors Were Informative And Great. The Investigators, Well ,flat Out They S*ck.

There Was Alot More But This Is Quite Long Enough. If You Have A High Enough Rating Please Send Me A Private Message If You Want To Know More And I Will Tell You How It Was Or You Can Ask Me Here So All Can See What I Would Say.

If Anyone Knows Of A Better Company, Please Feel Free To Tell Me. I Am Looking For A Immediate Rider Program, I Would Like To Run Asap And Not Get Any Home Time For 2 Months Or So. But Rider Has To Be With Me Off The Get Go. And I Am Not Interested In Flatbeds. Sorry, Its Just Not Me.

I Mentioned On Here Last Week That I Was Going To Go To A Few Big Names To Get The True Story About How They Really Are. You Are Right, I Did Get Screwed From A Even More Screwed Up Reason Which Is Still Hard To Believe , But I Did , Life Is Not Going To Stop For Me.

We're talking about a company that gets so much flack, and that nobody with the least bit of sense wants to work for. How on earth can they be so demanding. I feel for you man, what a waste of time. But, not to worry because you will probably start to get recruiting calls from JB tomorrow!

The ones that do eventually end up out of a job due to bad ethics (that's the big human resources word for being Nice to people)

And I know about the Investigators. Depends on the one you get as to how fast/slow/at all your investigation will be completed if at all. Sadly, there are a good number that just sit there and not care one iota.
