We are having the same issues going up there.

They haul a lot of the excavators from NC to DUB. These are actually Canadian units. JD figured out it was more cost effective to have the domestic carriers haul them to Dubuque, and then get Canadians to pick them up in Dubuque. I believe I heard they were paying in the neighborhood of $20K from NC to Canada, and are saving in the neighborhood of $6K per unit by moving them this way. -
Yep.. From Fl..
Yea we won't haul them that low.
Bad thing was the other week, our rep. was bidding on a fl. ld. would of paid me 4 a mile after everybody got their slice. We lost the bid. Then the carrier that got it put it out for brokerage.. Great. Also same on a colo. we bid on. Other carrier got it and posted it for brokerage.
I keep being told that we can't do it so how do they get away with it, I'll never know.
That carrier has blue company trks. from Or.. hint hint. -
They have been doing the same thing on smaller loads out of the Northern factories. I have been complaining about this as well. Supposed to be trying to put a stop to it, but as long as the loads are getting moved, I doubt it.

Ding Ding, We have a winner. Haha. Yep that is the one..
I hear though going up to the top of the hill for off ld. is a little fun though.
Never had the honour -
Funny thing is now, some carriers will post the lds. showing coming out of Greensboro or Winston-Salem.
Not Kernersville.
The blue trks. I asked on of their drivers if he was going to Fl. or Co. nope I'm going to Az. Ok. I said. Then I ask how can you guys broker the lds. when we can't?
Well we are allowed too he states, and walks away.. -
i think i'll just stick to my superloads!

They are dropping the excavators down at PSL. If you have to make a delivery to the hill, you should be much more concerned about the ricketty old bridge you have to cross to get there. It goes over a small river and is prone to flooding. After the last flood they closed the bridge for a while, but JD wouldn't let that last. I am waiting to hear a story about a heavy hauler collapsing the bridge. I just hope it isn't one of my trucks that breaks the bridge.SHC Thanks this.
