I hope I didnt offend anyone with my reply to the OP. Certainly wasn't my intention. Have talked to a number of RV haulers over the years, and thats pretty much what they all told me. I'd really like to try something different, like hauling RV's, expediting, or something different than big truck flatbedding. Been doing this 19 years, and all but 10 months was flatbed.

RVwholesalers out of lakeview ohio . They sell campers at wholesale prices last i checked they were selling close to 2000 campers a year as far as i know there only 6 drivers that drive for them . So with that said there shouldnt be a problem getting a camper to pull. The problem is they dont know the rules for shipping interstate commerce . I personnally dont know anybody that pulls for them that has a DOT or ICC number. They been doing it for 10yrs now never been caught ,i dont even think there drivers pull into scales truth be known. believe they pay 1.34 mile .

No dot no or signs.
They do paperwork as temp owners 30 day tags. No transport plates insurance or logs. -
I would recommend a equalizer when pulling a trl. I use to do camper sells and we had many customers come back for another unit because they totalled there camper after they just bought it. Just a little trl sway from wind or what ever can put you in the ditch. They run about 300 i believe. Add another 700.00 for a 10k fifth wheel. 250.00 for a trl brake control valve .Your in business kinda . Still gotta do the regulations ,unless you sign on with a company that plays by the rules

No there drivers look like there going camping its unreal they havent got caught. I have a friend that sold his trans am and bought a dually ,he pulls for them now for extra cash on his retirement. He has got a clue what a dot number is ,says he didnt know he had to have 1 lol
-
Yea i here ya ,problem is the bill of sale not in there name its in the buyers name so if a dot cop checked the bill of sale and it doesnt match the temp tag. Your busted. He gonna know your transporting for profit. I talked to the boss about it he didnt have a clue what i was talking about . Said he didnt think those rules applied to him

Quite a few little rv dealers don't follow dot rules when they transport from place to place.

you've been a trucker for less then a year? what did you do before. walmarts, fry cook at McDonald ? I also have driven over 37 years and have hauled RV's and made very good money doing it. maybe you need to LIVE the life befor you make some of the comments I see here. I driven 49 of the 50 states. hauled everything under the sun more or less. and I enjoyed hauling RV's. remember, you get to chose where you go! and after your empty. go do what you want. so if you take a trailer to Fairbanks, AK. on the way back you can do what ever you want. so its a paid Vacation. what a great perk! do your Boss let you do that. after you haul a load to Calf and get empty. can you swing through Vegas on the way home, and come back through Col on the way back, or the "four corners". near Cortez's, co....NO ! so you might wanna try it first.

he will when he get stoped, the fines are high as hell. in Calf its over $1,000
